That's a handy tool! At the moment, the data set (4200 cars TOTAL, across all makes) is too small to make accurate predictions for specific models, but I've bookmarked it and will keep checking as their data set increases.

The only articles I've read suggesting that big of a drop in low temps have been written by stock sites populated by Tesla short sellers. Most of the customers in Norway (where it's a best-seller) report a much lower drop in range.

I would be OK with that as an answer. At least it would give me some parameters for planning.

Don't forget state rebates, too. Here in CA, we get an additional $2500.

I think with enough testing, they should be able to come up with an average. Just like we do when estimating mpg while towing - enough people give you their results and it gives you a pretty decent guesstimate.

What is the range while towing? What is the plan for a charging network? Will we be able to pull into a charging station without unhitching?

I hope they prioritize range while towing. Most current EVs get about half their stated range while towing, which would make this a non-starter.

It depends on the trailer. I have a lightweight European one that weighs 2100 lbs and has a tongue weight of 150lbs. Others at our barn are heavier, and have tongue weights of around 400 lbs.

For some of us (I pull a horse trailer), the weight is all in the trailer and payload is unimportant. What's important is being able to tow as much as possible.

Has anyone else experienced the alarm going off when the truck is locked with the trailer still attached? This is a dealbreaker for me if it happens to everyone. I tie my horses to the trailer and lock my truck, then work out of the trailer. If the alarm goes off it will scare the crap out of...

Yes, a gooseneck/5th wheel has a much easier time making tight turns. Making a 90-degree or smaller turn into a small barn aisle is tough with a conventional trailer, but easy with a gooseneck. A gooseneck can also make a 180-degree turn on a small road when a bumper-pull simply wouldn't manage...
