  1. What gives 17 years from now?

Back in September of 2022, when my then eight year old grandson and I went to the dealer to pick up the Lightning XLT, I told him that in 2031 or 32, when he turns 17, I was giving him the keys to the truck. Even then he was a pretty tech-savvy kid and he responded, "Won't it be obsolete by...
  2. Daily Charging Limit Percentage - what's yours set to?

I charge to 90% at home most of the time, with 100% only in preparation for those trips where it will matter (it usually doesn't matter). When using a public charger, I play it by ear, charging between 80% and probably no more than 87%, depending on how much the charger is slowing down...
  3. New route-finding application

The interface you show is not the one that comes up on iPad. I did find “all chargers” view. The route was Kingston, NY to Lee, Ma. Prior to setting the all chargers view, it also indicated that I would not need a charge, which would not be true inthe winter with any kind of weather and the...
  4. New route-finding application

It missed several known chargers on routes I selected.
  5. Stolen Tail Lights

Sorry for your experience. It was likely not the work of petty thieves (like the homeless guy who went in my unlocked truck and stole only blankets, shopping bags (empty) and quarters). The local law enforcement agencies may have other reports that could help solve the crime. I had the...
  6. Whose truck worked great today?

    Great Today and Every Day!!!!!
  7. '23 Lariat Tail Light Replacement - a personal saga

Writing for a friend. He had a similar experience except I, I mean he never got to the point of actually getting a response from Ford on the repair. He did go to their parts website and saw that the taillight alone was over $2200 (not $4500!). He also checked around with body shops but...
  8. Curious why some do not use 1 pedal driving.

One Pedal Driving was the best unknown (to me) benefit of driving the truck! Try it next time you are in a slow moving traffic jam. It changes the world from frustrating and frantic to calm and easy going! You may still be stuck in traffic, but it's way more zen.
  9. Fast Interior upgrade

Quick Question: I've added seat heaters (partial seat cover pad type) to the front seats and all of the seats are covered with a set of inexpensive cloth covers from Advance Auto. The seats are kind of protected, but not really and the look leaves something to be desired, but the seat...
  10. What do you keep in your sub-frunk?

Cables extension cords and adapters, mostly. When Ford finally replaces the Tesla Adapter they told me not to use, that will go in there too. Oh, and thank to this thread, I'm moving the straps and bungees to that space too! We are still waiting for the right occasion to use it as a cooler too.
  11. Would you give up your Frunk for more range?

No. The frunk is one of the very best (and to me, most unexpectedly so) features of the Lightning. It gets used for shopping, for hiding personal belongings (purses, laptops, etc) and someday it will be the tailgate cooler! How about giving up a layer of the bed in the rear (as in, raise it...
  12. First year owner has battery question for winter

Welcome! Your question actually covers a few important considerations. As stated in other replies, take advantage of pre-conditioning. Do so while plugged in and close to the time of departure. In colder weather, I keep the truck plugged in whenever I am home and, when possible, when...
  13. Garage too small. Anyone park outside? In the snow?

Sort of Upstate New York here (that is a point of dispute among a lot of New Yorkers!). Hudson Valley/Catskill Mountains area. We get snow, but not nearly as much as we used to. I park outside for the same reason. My 1947 garage was not made for a modern truck. It might fit, but I would be...
  14. Is Anybody Happy With Their Lightning?

I just completed two years of ownership and am closing in on 20,000 miles. Short answer: I love the F150 Lighting (XLT). I too was on a list for a Maverick when Ford paused production of it. It would have been my first pick up truck and I really liked the high mpg of both the ICE and Hybrid...
  15. Ideas for soft encouragement of 85% charge.

I'd like to offer two other alternative points. ' First, the last time I rented an EV at Hertz, they obligated me to return the car with the same charge it was when I rented. There was a five percent grace. I got the car at 100%. I had no choice but to recharge to 95% or pay a steep...
