No one should use public DC chargers for a long term solution to commute. That should be for travel. I pay less than $0.09/mile average over the 70k miles I've put on my truck. I use solar at home and most of my charging is done at home at less than $0.13/kWh.

Sigenergy is less than $10k in parts and has V2G. So there are options through the DC port that is better than anything Ford or any other OEM offers even Tesla. I bought with the NACS cord and works with my Tesla and Lightning with adapter.

Why don't you just cut the wires on the new shifter and extend them instead of makeshift extension harness? The new shifter is cheap.
