  1. New tonneau bed cover installed, range has increased

These guys cover the bed for some reason https://www.pickuptruckracing.com/main.html Are there 2 lightning owners on this forum that live near each other and want to do a test? Drive same route at same time. One truck with tonneau, one without. Swap tonneau to other truck and repeat.
  2. Distribution of 80-AMP Ford Charge Station Pro (Home Charging Station)

Only reason I looked at the Sol Ark is a local PV installer sells them. They are quite expensive and I haven't decided to get one yet. I will definitely research the SolarEdge too.
  3. Distribution of 80-AMP Ford Charge Station Pro (Home Charging Station)

I contacted Sol-Ark about doing this same thing with their 12K model. Their response: "Our generator input accepts any stand alone 240V split phase power source (2 hots legs). The fact that the neutral is bonded in the circuit at the truck is ok. So, based on this it sounds like the proposed...
  4. Show your Lightning's home charging setup!

I think the color coding of romex started a little over 20 years ago. If his wiring is older then that it could be something heavier than 14 gauge but still not heavy enough for the Charge Station Pro.
  5. Racing at the 1/4 mile track??

This article mentions a 106 mph speed limiter. https://www.roadandtrack.com/reviews/a39927674/2022-ford-f-150-lightning-review/
  6. 2022 Lightning EPA highway + city range / efficiency numbers posted

You'd also have to include the cost of the charge in the calculation. If time = money then money = time. I admit this is more an issue with an ICE vehicle. Somewhere on this world wide web is an equation where you enter mpg of vehicle, cost of gas and how much you make an hour. I seem to...
  7. Dealer Reservation Awareness

The dealer I (somewhat randomly) chose said there was no way they could tell me where I was on their list. I of course do not believe them. I started checking out other dealers in the area and they wouldn't even tell me how many reservations they have. It's like they have no interest in selling...
  8. Farley: F-150 Lightning production will increase to 150K units in the next year and receive chips priority

A "Study" (small sample size) showed that BMW and EV drivers scored the highest on a Psychopathic Traits test. Think the EV drivers owned a Tesla?
  9. Read before you order! Expect 50% range loss in winter in Northern states.

Our PHEV has about 30 miles range. That's usually enough for us.
  10. Lightning Reservation Extended

If they are not going to offer the PRO in the future for non-fleet I wish they would have the decency to publicize that so some of us can move on. Ted
  11. Who is installing solar as part of their Lightning purchase?

For those who are calculating payback on solar don't forget the 26% federal tax incentive.
  12. So... How about them gas prices?

This! No matter what you drive waste is waste. My parents grew up in the depression and ingrained in me and my siblings to not be wasteful (like not wasting food, turn the lights off...) way before the conservation movement. It's not hard to do.
  13. So... How about them gas prices?

I think that was disputed many years ago. The issue was the nickel used in the batteries. What was ignored was that other cars use a lot of nickel (chrome and stainless use nickel) plus the Prius batteries were/are recyclable. There was also a nickel mine in Canada that polluted a lot but Prius...
  14. Pricing of cars/trucks going to collapse?

    There's hope. https://insideevs.com/news/566896/toyota-electric-vehicle-manual-transmission/
  15. LIGHTNING CURIOSITY -- Why Did You Choose It?

For sure the range will decrease a lot in cold weather but you don't have to worry about it not starting (my diesel tractors are the worst).
  16. Jim Farley: Watch how we are going to scale up our BEV capacity to 600,000 by the end of 2023

Cringed a little when in the beginning they showed the beautiful ag land with the new Blue Oval City and the battery plant graphics superimposed on.
  17. Invited After Transferring to ZEV State Dealer

They didn't need to remove the rear seat to get individuals not to buy it. They could have said it was for fleet only (like the PRO extended range version) from the beginning. They didn't do that and that's why we're having this discussion. What's your opinion on why they didn't say that from...
  18. Invited After Transferring to ZEV State Dealer

Do you own a lot of Ford stock and are trying to maximize your investment? The PRO is plenty truck for me. It's not about the cost (I can easily afford a Platinum) but why buy stuff you don't want. Heck I don't even use AC unless my dog looks hot.
  19. Invited After Transferring to ZEV State Dealer

Not where I live. Semi's go 5 mph under. Then the majority go the limit or 5 over. Then about 20% drive like they didn't use the bathroom before they left. Sorry for taking this even more off topic.
  20. 2022 Lightning Wheel and Tire Sizes | OEM 20” & 22”

I guess I was thinking more about tire pressure. Hyper-milers like to increase tire pressure to the max which decreases rolling resistance but gives a harsher ride. Also the low rolling resistance tires we have gotten for our Prius's are not known for their comfortable ride.
