Power to motors seems to drop with HVB Battery temperature irregardles of SOC. In my experience. 85% SOC 95% battty power at 27 HVB temp. 90% power at 22 HVB Temp.
My battery temp hit a low of 21 degrees yesterday. I would love to find the battery heater sensor. Just got car scanner app so messing with that. Today Within 3 hours of shorts drives and stops my battery temp dropped almost 20 degrees today from 55 to 38 degrees. Seems like once battery...
Had same issue on 19’ install with the Bak. The bak aluminum bed rails are “rolling” up when you tighten the clamp. You can see this in picture. Here’s how to fix. You can keep cover on bed, climb in and loosen all the clamps. Start at tailgate if rails aren’t level you can put some weight...
I was early $83 k loade lariat er with tow and bedliner. Paid MSRP.. If I didn’t make first cut I woul not buy. These are probably not $80k truck but definitely not 90, 100 or 110.
Don’t get Me wrong they are great but the ecomics now with initial pricing don’t make sense.20-30k can but...
I ordered mine 100% online. got mine at MSRP and dealer even took off the 200$ doc fee that was on my order sheet per ford. Even though they “never do that”. Dealers aren’t doing anything to get lightnings and they receive automatic 9% profit on the sale at MSRP plus bonuses if vehicle is sold...
My dealer flat out refused, July build no paak and about 9 modules need firmware based on running FDRS report. I tired to convince them but they said no.. what for OTA.
so 2.5 months after taking delivery I start rattling cages at ford corporate and the dealership about a vehicle feature that...
Whoever engineered this control is just dumb. Mine does same thing and has from day one. There should be one setting for auto on or off. Fan speed should adjust “auto”matically as necessary to maintain the cabin temperature set.
They pretend there is some vast technology in these trucks...
What is odd about your mileage? 40 degrees is warm, wait till it gets cold. I am seeing 170miles at 90% @20 degrees. I am fully expecting to see some days below 150 this winter.
It is possible to drain o Lithium battery to zero. The damage done is not good though. a low voltage cutoff or BMS to ensure the battery isn’t overly discharged is what stops us from over draining the cells and harming then. But if not charged they will continue to drain In fact low SOC for...
Not uncommon to see each side be slightly different. My 19 was like this slight rub on one side at full crank in reverse nothing on other side. I agree don’t cut crash bars but I found if you loosen the bolts they will move abit and then retighten.
You probably should have used a +20 offset...
It will not be in a power up update. It comes as a separate update. When? Nobody knows and ford won’t/can’t tell you. Who gets it? Here again seems random The RFA module firmware needs updated. Dealers have the update through the FDRS system but we’re told not to do it along with many other...
Haha yes picky. Why wouldn’t you want to warn all your neighbors on your block or everyone in the parking lot that “hey I got an electric truck with a frunk!”
The frunk beep is a safety/cover fords ass feature just like the numerous redundant pinch sensors on the frunk. The double honk on EV is not required. Not sure if you can disable on Newer ICE vehicles via the screen but on my 19 had to be done in forscan. Due to someone leaving their car...
Charger was likely trying to catch up to usage for precondition. If it is 0f outside and I precondition I will usually be down 1% from my 90% SOC versus allowing it it precondition when it’s not plugged in as lose about 4%. The battery has a very large mass and takes a lot of energy to warm...
At the meter there is likely a breaker there hopefully 200Amp. Like previous post said, two options depending on main panel add another breaker and feed the charger or splice in and add a subpanel. My service box wouldnt accept another breaker so spliced in after main breaker with proper...
Speed kills your battery faster than running heat or warming battery on longer/higher speed drives.
using some gross area assumptions to calculate wind loading due to speed.
20mph=1lbf
40mph=4lbf
60mph=9lbf
70mph=12lbf
80mph=16lbf
It’s takes 33% more force(energy) to overcome wind resistance...
And 1.5 at 20 degrees. And right around 1 at 0 degrees. While battery capacity is a function of temperature it is mostly the climate use and the usage trying to maintain the higher battery temperature that is taking away driving energy.
It has been right around 20 degrees for two weeks and I...
50/50 town highway. I keep it at 68 on highway. Even at 1m/kWh still cheaper than ICE. My lifetime average is 1.6 purchased exactly two months ago, right when weather started getting cold.
My record so far is 1.1m/kwh at -10f. I average 1.5 at 20f. About a 48 mile Round trip make it 4 times a week. Climate control and battery heater love the power when it cold.
