He has a compatible Bluetooth OBD device. He links it into the Carplay app and then he can get ALL live data from the truck. I do the same, but only from my phone. Time to try it from the truck!

That's the way to do it. I moved from Texas (a 2 plate state) to Michigan (1 plate state) and removed it. Glad I didn't drill holes in my truck.
That being said, I have an extra Mishimoto kit I would sell on the cheap for someone in need.

While you may be right, I've used the EA chargers along the Ohio Turnpike close to Indiana successfully about 8 times. They've never been fully down. For all 3 sites to be down, 150-200 miles apart in total, was pretty crazy.
