Load rating at max psi:
115=2679lb (10,716lb total)
116=2756lb (11,024lb total)
Just looking at the numbers I'm inclined to say it's a preference since the 115s will run a bit smoother. However, load rating is calculated at max tire pressure and you probably aren't running max tire pressure...
How many heat cycles did the old outlet have before it failed? How many heat cycles has the new outlet had?
You are literally playing with fire. Is it worth the extra 1.9kW?
You are looking for reasons to keep doing what you are doing.
I cannot find anything that says 8awg is appropriate for a 50A circuit. A 40A circuit should use a minimum of 8awg and shouldn't have a load of more than 32A continuous.
You will melt another outlet if you keep doing what you are doing.
Code (properly sized wiring and breaker) is written to prevent the wires in your walls from burning your house down. Once the wires are outside of the walls it's on the user to not burn their house down.
A 40A charger should NOT be used on a 40A circuit under ANY circumstances.

Leaving a vehicle in neutral is introducing risk into a scenario where there is very little risk. A vehicle in neutral is always a rolling threat, which can cause serious injury or death.
Airliners release their brakes at the gate for brake cooling. There is a ground crew that inserts chocks...
What exactly is the crime being discussed here? A "bad guy" gets in one of the other doors you unlock and does what? I can't even figure out why a criminal would want to do that or what they would do after they got in the car with you. Will someone explain this to me?
Cool trip. I noticed only your* shorts were wet in one of the photos. Technically, it doesn't count unless you are completely submerged.😁
* I'm assuming @CD4TNF is the writer of the article.
As a data point...2022 Platinum.
I've run 20" Lariat wheels and stock Hankook A/T tires about 15,000 miles, mostly in colder months. They have worn badly on the outside.
I've run stock 22" Platinum wheels and General Grabber tires about 20,000 miles, mostly in warmer months. They have worn...
Ford's customer service is just poor. I hate to say it because I like Ford and own two Ford vehicles I really love.
I'm going through a similar issue. I have a battery issue which I researched on this website before going to the dealership. They tried fixing it their way - at Ford's direction -...
The global problem is that the truck has 50+ modules with software developed and maintained by whatever supplier made the most sense to deal with whenever the feature was first developed. It's not so much an architecture as a ramshackle shelter. Sort of amazing it works at all.
As an aside...
PSA: DTC codes are universal. You can use a Google search to get a lot of information. Google's AI assistant came up with this (and more) when I searched "C0039 DTC."
AI is 100% stealing content from forums but I'm not going to be the one to fight our AI Overlords. Hail, hail AI!
I can't argue with your reasoning at all. I can think of at least one financial decision that I have made that wasn't conventional but it took risk off the table and allowed me to sleep at night. My Dad paid off his house early with a low interest loan. Not a great financial move but he had a...
All true, but what have you given up by purchasing the warranty? You have traded something for the ability to drive a nice truck and the piece of mind that failures are reasonably covered.
That "something" is opportunity cost and is mostly hypothetical, but I'm sure you can think of something...
Agreed.
True.
If we look at it another way, does it make sense to carry a liability that could bankrupt you? Insurance mitigates the problem but a better financial solution is to drive a less expensive vehicle with cheaper maintenance liabilities.
