Thanks for explaining this. However, it begs the question: if it isn't legal to use driver specific data to change driver specific rates, how are they using traffic violations against people?
My experience with both the Lightning and the Mach-e is that preconditioning begins about 30 minutes before the scheduled departure - regardless of the temperature.
That would be annoying. Perhaps @Ford Motor Company could add an option in settings to set deployment to trigger with the door handle. That would solve the issue of the truck picking up your phone's Bluetooth.

The Full Story
I’ve had a 2023 Lightning Lariat for a few weeks now. I went to the manual to see how keep the Power Deployable Running Boards out during the car wash.
The manual says to go to the features menu and select Running...
I think this was a simple case of economics. At Ford’s initial offering there was a lot of demand. Then Ford raised the price.
Was there any discussion of Ford’s price increases? This certainly lowered demand. I cancelled my preorder after all of the increases. I then reordered last July when...
I have a MME, so I’m used to getting updates. But this had me scratching my head too. As far as I can tell, it seems to be nothing more than a “welcome to the world of updates” message after you turn on updates in your new truck.
Perhaps they were getting too many inquiries about whether...
That would be me! And I think it darn straight of Ford to do that. It will be nice to leave one in each vehicle. I don't imagine selling one though. I think they'll be necessary to include when I sell the vehicles because CCS will be on it's way out by then.
UPDATE: The truck finally arrived at the dealer the first week of January. To make a long story short, I was finally able to get the $7,500 from Ford and took delivery of the truck today (Jan 30th). Big thanks to Nic at Larry H Miller Super Ford in Salt Lake City.
Well, that only took forever and a day. I'm pretty salty at this point. I've decided that if Ford will not honor the $7,500 Q4 incentive when the truck arrives, I'm going to let it go. I'm sure Ford will appreciate another '23MY sitting on a lot going into 2024.
Ordered in July. Built mid September. Still waiting. If the $7500 is gone when it finally arrives, I'm won't take delivery. Already pretty salty that I would be getting a MY 2023 on the doorstep of 2024.
Do we want a revolution? Every day there is more competition for public charging. And as more people charge at home, electricity rates will go up. Governments will charge EV owners higher registration fees to recover lower tax revenues at the gas pumps. Free charging opportunities will...
No updates since 9/18. Tomorrow will mark the 3rd delivery window that has come and gone. Been sitting at ramp 59 for a month and a half now. Ford CS says to call the dealer. Dealers says it's on a "plant hold," but Ford will not give them any information as of why.
Does anyone know what a...
Maybe call your dealership. It didn’t show up on Edmunds for my zip either. Called my dealership in Salt Lake City and my sales rep put in my vin and said it qualifies.
Tim Bartz at Long McArthur Ford was talking about that here (1:36:30):
It would be awesome if people who are taking delivery soon could confirm with their dealers.
