Similar to the other same-day announcement from @Ford Motor Company, these features are going across all model years of the Lightning correct?
My initial thought that there isn't any hardware limitations so it would be efforts of firmware and software. Can you guys please clarify in your...
Thanks @Ford Motor Company for the great news and this is a much needed feature.
I wish there was a bit more clarity on the messaging on availability and timing. I understand that 2025 model year Lightnings will get this right out of the gate, but what about 2022 to 2024 model years?
I'd be...
I sent A2Z an e-mail requesting to be a part of the mentioned pilot program for the NACS DC extension cord. No response yet but in my experience they may take a few days to respond.
I only got a 3-month trial when I got my truck (should have negotiated for more) and after trying to live with the regular cruise control I'm considering going back to Blue Cruise - either on a monthly basis when needed or buy the license outright and keep it with the vehicle permanently...
I plan on purchasing the NACS DC extension cable. With the 1.5m / 5ft. planned length of the cable, I'm hoping that it would allow me to back in the Lightning into a Supercharger stall. I have my doubts but maybe A2Z willing to make the cable longer just before production release.
Posted yesterday on Mach-E forum is a detailed technical analysis of the vapour injection heat pump (VIHP) that is coming to the Mach-E for the 2025 model year. It's my assumption that this is the same if not similar functionality and design as what is on the 2024 and above Lightning...
I disagree and believe that this is more of a driver problem than a problem with current throttle mapping. Also, regen is fine in winter conditions just as long as you don't treat the throttle like an on-off switch. How else have other EVs with regen and no way to turn off or dial down the...
I was wondering about this because I noticed it too. It was my assumption that the truck was warming up the battery in absence of a departure time to which @TaxmanHog has pointed out.
I've observed that even on 110V (which what I'm still using), the truck is still trying to maintain a...
I have Nokian Hakkapelitta LT3s on my truck and I got the E-ply rating on mine. Yes it was overkill based on the Lightning's load requirements and I'm about 10-pounds heavier per corner. I went with the E-ply anyway because the diameter was the closest to the OEM 275-50-70 of the Platinum tires...
There will be no need to give up frunk / storage space for more range as battery density is continually increasing year-over-year. What will be required after the ~20 year service-life of the original battery is the facility and service to replace the HV pack with a new one that is of the same...
Strange. I just re-read your original post and for me, I do have window tint even on my front windshield (XPEL Prime XR Ceramic @50% VLT if I remember correctly) and I haven't had any trouble in using the Toll tag.
The bag that the tag comes in is an RFID shield, so I don't know if that has...
Yes that makes sense. I think it was a good decision of them to use passive electronics like this to make it as seamless as possible for the customer.
They also indicate needing up to 24-hours between registration and first use, which corresponds to their back-end workflows along with credit...
I understood that by purchasing the tag, there would be some discounts or preferential pricing when using the toll network. I don't know by how much if at all, but I figured it would also be fun to have one.
This is what I have. Per the labels it was manufactured in April 2021 but I purchased it in October of 2022. I most recently used it in November 2024.
The instructions indicate that it is a passive tag (rather than a transponder in a technical sense), such that there is no battery and no...
That's strange. I have the rectangular one that you stick on the inside of your windshield to and it has worked fine for me whenever I've travelled from Toronto to NYC and back.
I just keep my EZ-Pass on the rubber tray that's on top of the dashboard, behind the 15" display.
Do you know for sure if the dealer is able to configure the new wheel size? I ask because when I was looking for my aftermarket wheels, the only thing available to account for the speedometer error was a plug-and-play module that would have to be tucked in behind the driver's display.
The SYNC 4 Navigation does indeed have problems and the design decisions made are unusual, but to call it "worthless" is a statement of absolutes and is not helpful if we are to expect Ford to do a significant enough of an update to make the application usable.
Part of why I chose a Lightning...
Thanks for the great tip! I've had my 2024 Lightning since late July of 2024 and noticed the sticking throttle pedal. I'll spray that point with silicone lubricant once the weather warms up a little in the next day or so.
For what it's worth, what I perceive with the throttle pedal is a slight...
