Sadly, the "orange Jesus" in office now will not stop subsidizing the Oil industry. Thats different than EV apparently. This may slow down the development of EV's in North America but the rest of the world will power on. Four years from now, North America will be even further behind the Chinese...
Yes it is faster than the machE and holds for a longer time line. Speed of charging tends to only be relevant if you charge at Super Chargers. At home is a non event unless you drive a lot.
I owe both the MachE premium 2023 and the Lightning XLT 2024 so I have a definitive opinion on both. To start, they are both amazing driving vehicles. I understand your position since I wanted the ability to have a vehicle with utility capability (Lightning) and a vehicle that was easy to drive...
Excellent point about impacting competitors. The cheap CT never did happen did it. Here in Canada, you get the CT for a nice $140,000+ CDN. Lightning goes for $65,000 XLT SR. For the extra cash, I could buy a gas truck for the longer trips or rent one.
Love my Lightning, does what I want, cheap...
Clearly for the customer that does longer trips or hauling frequently. The gas used now does not store well for long periods of time. Not sure if the generator is not frequently use if issues around the gas intakes getting gummed up. I know my snowblower does not do well if I leve gas in it all...
That is called a Musk-rat (Elon Musk) move. Sell vapourware and futures till you deliver years later. I guess it puts pressure on the engineers to make it happen.
Totally agree. Hybrids and Plug in hybrid cars have the inherent worst parts of both technologies. Too heavy for good gas mileage and higher maintenance cost, let alone the expertise to deal with it. Maybe RAM made the right decision till the higher density solid state battery comes that will...
I strongly suggest the Tesla Universal Wall Connector. This unit future proofs you. NACS is the standard adapter now. This unit has both J1777 and NACS. never worry about having the wrong connector down the road. Your Tesla buddies will appreciate it as well.
Pricing in Canada is not so wide apart. If I compare a Flash to the WT4, pricing is much closer but range with the Silverodo is better. Once discounts come in, it will be interesting.
Good point. A lack of sales could also hit the bottom line if range becomes an issue as it will next year. When all things are equal with pricing, than range becomes more important
As most of us already know, the actual battery on board the F150 Lightning is larger than stated. Ford purposely understates since they are warrantying the battery for 8 yrs and they want to avoid users charging always to 100%. My question is the following. Now that the Silverodo is on the seen...
I totally agree that there are some great unions, however, their numbers are smaller than the bad ones. It's a business for god sake. The union is an intermarry that charges the employee money to negotiate hourly rates, protect the "dog f*&%k" that does not deserve it so it looks like they are...
This is how the inflation spiral happens. No new productivity to offset the increase in cost. Just pure inflation. So the coffee shop increases cost because the annual inflation is higher, the grocery store increase cost to match inflation. The auto worker says they now need more because food...
Sure hope you are right. I am in the same boat of products. Love them but concerned that software improvements are slow to materialize. Ford comes out with one update (improvment) and Tesla has 4. Not fixes but updates to improve performance or add features.
Total agreement with all statements. Just a question for everyone, how is the average working family to justify paying higher prices because the average auto worker is paid much high wages than the average blue collar labourer ?? Generally speaking, higher wages means a big move forward with...
If governments do that, the end consumer may suffer, we saw that for the last 40 yrs. Car makers are lazy, always going after the low hanging fruit. They use to tell us what we wanted, then Japan came into the market. Now China has emerged as a leader. Software will dictate hardware, just as it...
I think what at is play now are a couple of factors. Shareholder want short term gains at the expense of long term viability. Their only investment is in money and not job security. Sell out at anytime with no commitment. Workers and families have a different reality. The second point I see is...
