True. It doesn’t say that the update is readily available in the recall. But there is a service procedure on it, weather that’s been officially released, I don’t know. But I guess it’s communication we’ve been waiting for.
Agree, but it would be odd that Ford would release the recall instructions dated 6 days ago and prior to the update being available. Not that it wouldn't happen, but it would be odd.
ITRM = TRM ?
If this Recall refers to the TRM, the TRM is OTA updateable, why wouldn't they push this OTA? Plus TRM module is listed as "Exterior Lighting" in the Vehicle Module info , are we sure the ITRM is the same as the TRM and not just the lighting part of the trailer connector?
Its slight, but I wonder if they introduced new hardware to address this. When mine was replaced, my dealer didn't just order a new one, but it was sent by Ford to replace my existing one because of my case. Don't know the P/N of the old one though. Mine was built in June 2021. I would be...
it was intermittent. It would work for the start of a trip but at some point stop working. They didn’t say specifically what was done to address it, just just sent this brake controller and heard nothing more about it.
Ford replaced my brake module last November after a case was opened about this issue and Ford engineers inspected my truck. They sent my dealer a new Brake module to install and I have now updated to the latest TRM software. My new module information is below. I have not had a chance to test it...
Its not the 70s anymore., needing at least an F250 or F350 to tow???
The new F150 properly equipped with Max Tow can do 10,000lbs+ safely and easily. If you're not packing 500lbs of clothes and 300lbs of fishing poles.
Try clicking the refresh button on right of the Green Run button for the APIM and then run the APIM update again. This downloaded and installed the next available APIM update for me immediately rather than waiting.
I'm not 100% sure, but it makes sense that it is since it seems to interface directly into the APIM using ethernet to run a module repair procedure, then instructs you to update to APIM normally through USB.
So it appears the OTA fix will not come OTA. Does this mean it will require a trip to the dealer to fix it? Or the proper VCMII with a data port and a licensed FDRS to perform the APIM module update fix?
Game changer??? If I had to guess, which I do, I believe this procedure will allow the Stuck OTA 1.7.1 update to clear allowing the APIM to update via USB immediately rather than have to wait that extended period of time.
