  1. Tesla Charging Prices - Not excited as others

I love my Lightning. But, if we were a young couple with limited time and money for vacations and multiple vehicles, then no way would I have got the Lightning. Because on a road trip, it ain't the time you save plugging in at home or not getting twice a year maintenance. It's the time and...
  2. Your 'Connected' Car May Be Transmitting Your Driving Data to Insurance Companies

Weird. I opted out of all the info sharing when I got the truck. And, I have all the tiles and functionality in Ford Pass. Guess I'm just boring.
  3. Decided to jump on the latest deals and got myself a Lightning.

You're going to love this truck!
  4. Ford Confirms: Owners Won't Need Tesla App to Supercharge

I could do a dozen memberships and save a few cents....but the ease of use with the Ford Charge network is well worth paying a little more. I love just plugging in and charging and watching YouTube. Having to keep track of credit cards for each one and the quirks of their apps, is just not...
  5. Dog Mode

You can just leave the truck running, BUT, you have to turn off the 30 minute count down timer EVERY time. It won't stay off just by setting it once.
  6. Did 600 miles towing an Airstream turn my Extended Range into a Standard Range?!

I had the truck still thinking it was towing, too. I had to plug the trailer in again, then unplug it while the truck was running. That reset it.
  7. Article: How Ford’s F-150 Lightning, Once in Hot Demand, Lost Its Luster

I love my Lightning... but if I had to drive far each day and tow, absolutely not. It would be terrible for doing that, and all the talk about MPGe etc is trying to put glitter on a pig. For a full-size F150, 250-270 miles of freeway range, or 300 miles of highway range, neither of those...
  8. Power-Up OTA 6.8.0 - Smart Changes: Center Screen

I’m not a fan of the cruise control speed down cramped into that one little space now. Hope Blue Cruise 1.3 makes it worth all thes interminable updates that aren’t really updates! Give me a snow mode and mud and rock modes separately. And a car wash mode that folds in mirrors and raises...
  9. HUD

Ford has HUD’s in higher trim Escapes as an option. I’d like it with Blue Cruise next turn stuff, too. Then the truck wouldn’t badger me for looking down or to center screen.
  10. Lightning Owner Drives a Cybertruck

Except that I am glad that Ford put a barely adequately sized battery in the Lightning ER. CT battery is calculated to be 123 kW, which would have made a F150L ER a joke. Tesla lacks the excuse of Ford, since Tesla makes the battery. So all Tesla did, basically, is match the Lightning range...
  11. Toyo Open Country A/T EV tires released

My BFG A/T 2 's have been on since early December, and are doing very well in Wisconsin snow. On ice they'll slide, but so does everything. But more importantly, they are WAY better on wet pavement than the stock tires were.
  12. -20F to -30F performance and experience

ICE car might not run at -40, but my Dodge Rams and F150 hybrid did. And towed no sweat in that cold weather. There is no question that if you need to drive far and fast in the winter, gas or diesel is the way to go. That being said, I don't need to tow far in the winter, not more than 60...
  13. Open and utilize the drivers side rear storage.

With the subwoofer back there, probably won't want to put much back there. BUT, if something you REALLY need immediately drops back there, then would be nice to be able to pop the seat latch and just grab and go. That's why I will install my latch before my next camping trip.
  14. Hidden charging stations

That charger looks like it was made in the back of RadioShack. Idk about Ford, but Chevy usually has nice 3rd party chargers, here in Wisconsin. And up to 45 kw at that. I’m hopeful that Ford will catch-up soon and add more stops closer to camping spots
  15. 40A home charging - Should I do it

I have the FCSP, running at 48 amps, which I love, compared to 32 amps on a plug-in outside. in theory your 100 amp service would support the 80 amps. BUT you would have to not run anything else at the same time, or breakers will pop off. Sun run probably added up your loads, and figured you...
  16. 50 kWh DC Fast Chargers popping up all over Wisconsin

yeah, the Dells casino fast charger worked for about a month, then when they tried to go pay instead of free, it broke. And has been on the repair list for months. Sigh...
  17. 50 kWh DC Fast Chargers popping up all over Wisconsin

If they start popping up like these 50's, it will be sweet! I'm just happy I can go camping (and working) without worrying about charging, compared to '22, where December was a COLD slow charging month!
  18. 50 kWh DC Fast Chargers popping up all over Wisconsin

The last year has seen these DC chargers popping up everywhere. But all I see or hear is “There’s no chargers yet!” I say let’s give credit where it’s due to all the rural co-ops who are quietly opening up states to responsible, low-polluting EV’s! I’m kind of venting here. When I got my...
  19. Largest size tire that can be installed on the 20" wheels?

can change odometer/range meter for the new tire diameter in FORSCAN
  20. Power-Up OTA 6.3.0 - Screens, Profiles, Charge Stats

It would be funny if the update happened right away... as it is, is just annoying. But at least I know Ford is thinking of me, LOL!
