The problem is that the truck is Ford, charger is Siemens, inverter is Delta, battery is LG, and Sunrun is the only company authorized to make them all work together. The communication is also a proprietary setup and not any sort of industry standard. I too have hope that the Ford system gets...
...circuit to the truck. Doing so trips the trucks GFCI. Fix this!
-More power feedback. It’s great that Ford supports V2H back up power via the SunRun. HOWEVER, it would be amazing if the truck supported an open source or non-proprietary V2H option. Nothing against the Ford Powerstation Pro or...
...are doing a V2X demo. It only covers 3 vehicle models, and the Lightning with the FCSP and HIS system is one of them. They are partnering with Sunrun for installation and TMH (The Mobility House) for the software aspect.
Still in the early (designed but not yet deployed) stages, but if...
...called Ford and said I wanted warranty service because my system rarely works automatically (but it will upon occasion). I was told to call Sunrun. Sunrun said they'd be happy to come out to my house to inspect the system, but I'd have to be charged $544 for the trip. If the problem were...
...pallet, I have no desire to pack it up for shipments, so I will only meet someone in the Houston area. It weighs over 300 lbs, and the batteries are over 100 lbs each.
Please note this is a 400V battery and is only compatible with some high voltage inverters like the Ford/Sunrun, or some others.
A ground is not needed for the serial communication. I just use 2 wires twisted together using a drill for the communications which has been flawless on my system. The EN and GRD for the lg battery is a 12v signal and has nothing to do directly with the RS485. They just happen to use the same...
...or you could chat with these agents directly yourself.
BTW, I notice that the orange ground is still shown as connected in the FCSP on the Sunrun field website wiring diagram instructions. Sunrun hasn't bothered updating that diagram, even if leaving the orange ground disconnected is now...
The DPU recently expanded the Cap Exempt Net Metering threshold to 25 kWac (up from 10). I believe the Delta invreter that's part of the HIS is 9 kWac, so unless you have a large existing PV system, there shouldn't be any conflict.

Has anyone gotten an installation date yet? (I remember someone saying they were slated for an August install?)
I have been talking with Sunrun on some questions regarding our existing solar panels.
Here's the updates from that:
- The HIS just works with the F150. They will create a subpanel on...
...inverter, and several other components. It's supposed to be automatic. It was a total flop. It doesn't work. It has multiple flaws. Ford, SunRun, and Siemens basically threw up their arms and walked away from it totally screwing customers who bought it. You can read all about this abysmal...
...look the same make sure you use the one that AC
For for charging with a Ford Pro charger it’s AC only so make sure you get the AC only charger the DC part of the connector is for backwards to grid vehicle to grid. With SunRun. power which at the moment we can’t use that with a vehicle...
...nominal" lithium-iron-phosphate, which operate between 48v DC and 56v DC. The two largest firms that supply home energy storage (Tesla and Sunrun) both use 48volt nominal. The EG4 chargeverters are an easy method for the non-electrically trained. Other DC chargers can be used to accommodate...
That Emporia is a very high quality unit. Kinda surprised it's so inexpensive.
SunRun royally screwed up when I bought my truck and sent me two CSPs. Sold one on eBay and bought an Emporia. Installed a CSP at my house and the Emporia at a family members house. Worked out great.
Agree with what you said. Ford knows when you use the 80amp Pro charger. I remember in August of 2022 when I requested from SunRun to give me my Pro charger that they held in a warehouse in California. It was Ford’s idea to generate business for SunRun.
Anyways, since I had purchased the first...
Not surprised that disconnecting the RS485 ground didn't work. RS485 on systems like this should really be fully isolated electrically. Otherwise it's relatively common to see comms problems due to noise or out of range common mode voltages. One potential fix is to add isolation using an...
...you can live with charge-time-wise.
If you wiring comes in through conduit on the sides (for one with an HIS that is standard) then the back opening for a wall gang box would be available for a small fan to suck hot air out of the FCSP.
I labeled it in the above Sunrun pic.
Just a thought.
Right.
But if you do that during a grid outage the inverter is off and you're done until the grid comes back up. You'd have to open the inverter and try to repower it from the dark start battery and I don't know if that is possible.
You can reboot the FCSP by pulling the ds battery feed though...
...that powers the inverter during an outage before backup transfer kicks in. Although the M Professional app is a third-party app, it's what Sunrun uses to set up the HIS system (I learned about it from the Sunrun techs who set my HIS system up; it's mentioned with instruction on the Sunrun...
