I can confirm that the usb port on the FCSP supports a usb=>ethernet adapter to get ethernet access to the device. But can't get it to connect to the FordPass App. I ran a reset on the FCSP from the Charge Station Pro app and then attempted to run the setup with just the ethernet connection. I'm...
There are other systems that you can use with your truck, but not necessarily the Charge Station Pro.
For what its worth, the Ford/Sunrun system does work and is supported, but it is not necessarily for the faint of heart to do so, and does work better for the DIY electrical inclined. I would...
...this backup power.
We spend $50k or more on the truck, so why complain about spending $400 or so on Generac transfer switch, or a bit more for the disconnect in the video, plus install costs, which would be code compliant and safe?
It's way cheaper than the SunRun HIS system, and more reliable.
I believe only SunRun sells the HIS hardware. You may also want to read about the success, or lack thereof, in getting an HIS system to work automatically as designed.
Good morning! I’m interested in getting the Home Integration System to use my CSP, do I have to get it from Sunrun or can I get what I need from Enphase that already installed the solar panels in my house? I have been struggling trying to get the Sunrun system and I want to get it done ASAP...
Interesting that there is a USB port on the FCSP which is not apparently mentioned in any documentation that I have seen yet from Ford or SunRun.
I did not find any mention of the P3 debug connection pins either. They do say TX RX and COM on the circuit board so clearly for simple serial 2-way...
Nicely done!
I don't have an adapter, but I did preemptively run an Ethernet point out to my HIS. If I can find a converter that is compatible... between the HIS and the Ethernet network...
Yes there is a Ford App required at a cost of $500 if you have an SR battery I read.
Have you read the installer docs from SunRun? Pages 16 on of the attached doc talk about pairing for HIS. Not sure it will help but who knows.
That is the port that the Sunrun inverter uses to communicate with the FCSP. So it's not a proprietary service port. If someone had the full piece of junk Home Integration System, and was nerd enough, they could probably solve this quickly by sniffing the comms.
...with the Lightnings Pro Power Onboard (7.2 kW 240V outlet).
For reference I have been testing a couple systems. I have the original Ford / Sunrun HIS (which worked for me), and have switched to the PointGuard Home system.
PointGuard (Sigenergy elsewhere in the world) is a hybrid...
Did they mention what charger? That Sunrun is specifically for the FCSP. And I for one cannot get mine to connect to my WiFi.. (And @Danface said they would install new chargers.. I was kind of counting on this so we have a model independent charger at the end (vs the Ford which is AC J-1772...
Update - B2Q visited yesterday. I also should be set for the aug/sep timeframe, as my install is simple. They said it was the Sunrun Home Integration System they'd be putting in. Maybe he's incorrect, but that would sync with my understanding. Sunrun for us, Wallbox for Kia, Fermata for Nissan.
My electrician said the same thing. we had a 4 hour power outage last night and my Option E set up with a 30 amp breaker ran my house until the power was back online.
Can the inverter in the HIS actually supply 100A (when it works at all)? The marketing materials available when I bought my Lightning quoted a decidedly lower figure.
