  1. âś… 5/23 Lightning Build Week Group

Maybe they were waiting for some chips and then the chips came…sometimes it’s just that simple.
  2. Lightning for resale on Cars&Bids

Again, who is being exploited? And what’s “unreasonable” about selling a commodity at market value?
  3. Lightning for resale on Cars&Bids

Who do you imagine is being exploited in this scenario?
  4. My Lightning owner's thoughts and 1600 mile trip

A lot of it will be dependent on how far apart the chargers actually are but, in general, on a long trip the more time you spend in the 150kw window the faster the trip will be. Going to 70% won’t make a big difference but it also isn’t really necessary depending on how far the next charger is...
  5. Moloughney’s delivery delayed

For those who listened to the InsideEVs podcast this morning @tommolog said that they have already shifted his delivery window and looks like they’ll miss it again (i think he said it’s currently 6/14-6/20). His dealer told him the truck still hasn’t been loaded so a Monday (6/20) delivery...
  6. Lightning for resale on Cars&Bids

Minus taxes and tags, which wipes out the tax credit for many of us. Although i guess you can deduct the taxes if you itemize. Small consolation.
  7. My Lightning owner's thoughts and 1600 mile trip

I appreciate the write-up, always good to get feedback from a real owner. One thing i would say is that if you’re roadtripping with the Lightning try to spend as much time as possible in the 0-50% state of charge range. If you’re doing 100 miles per stop try to charge just enough to get...
  8. âś… 5/23 Lightning Build Week Group

I don't know. This is the first timer I've gotten a status update outside of the order tracker.
  9. Lightning for resale on Cars&Bids

    Ooh, I'll be watching that.
  10. Email & Photo: Your F-150 Lightning just rolled off the assembly line [post yours]

This would be awesome if they sent it to you real time. Alas...
  11. âś… 5/23 Lightning Build Week Group

Oh, I stopped in to my dealer today. He said he's seeing the "waiting for final approval" message on his side. 5/27 blend.
  12. âś… 5/23 Lightning Build Week Group

It’s weird how they slowly add stuff to the app over the course of weeks. Last weekend i got a picture in the account page, then a few days later i got the picture on the main page, then today i got the activate button. Seems like it should just add everything at once. I doubt there’s...
  13. Lightning vs Rivian R1T - efficiency test comparison by OutofSpec

As they note in the video, it’s difficult to gauge the true efficiency without instrumentation but just based on the total energy delivered from the charger it appears the Lightning is about 5% less efficient. Not too bad! Even after seeing the Rivian and Lightning in a bunch of pictures, i was...
  14. High Speed, Level 2 Public Charging Coming to North America

That is cool but it will be a long time before those become common. Unfortunately, the 10s of thousands of L2 chargers already out there would be very expensive to upgrade to 80A, if it’s even possible.
  15. [WTF, North Carolina?] North Carolina’s plan to ban free EV charging is an environmental disgrace [WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Well, it was a coherent response but not well reasoned. Let’s give all visitors to government buildings free ice cream, it will really raise their spirits. It’s just like providing bathrooms!
  16. [WTF, North Carolina?] North Carolina’s plan to ban free EV charging is an environmental disgrace [WARNING: NO POLITICS]

What’s your point? Are you going to make a coherent argument why free vehicle fueling is a reasonably required service? Parking and bathrooms clearly are and in many cases are required by regulation.
  17. [WTF, North Carolina?] North Carolina’s plan to ban free EV charging is an environmental disgrace [WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Agreed, end government altogether. It’s not “required”.
  18. TFL: Ike Gauntlet Towing Test - F150 Lightning Lariat ER vs Hybrid Powerboost

With it gaining 7% on the way down and using 16% on the way up, it’s only about a net of 9% loss. That means they could make the loop 11 times on a full charge, which means it’s got about 175-180 miles of range through the Ike loop. i was impressed that the battery/motor temp didn’t go up at...
