You need to thank Farley's kids, they convinced Dad to call his people and then Elon after a long drive (in a Lightning I think he said) from the Bay area to Tahoe and back. There is a video on YouTube where he is interviewed and he discusses this.
I got my email letter from GM yesterday for my wife's 2019 Bolt. We are scheduled to have this upgrade done on Sept 24th. The email itself doesn't give a lot of details but the dealer tech I spoke with said it is an update to bring the older cars in line with the 2022 and later Bolts (Tom goes...
I took my 23 Lightning into Ford last weekend for the CSP 23B57 and they said OK but then called me an hour or so later and said Ford wouldn't let them apply the update. So all that BS for nothing. They couldn't find out why it was being held up but Ford said another few months before they...
I will post an update after next saturday’s appointment, the service advisor at Ford of Clermont here in FL was very confident they could do the diagnostics and apply the appropriate repairs called for. he wasn’t 100% on parts availability on that saturday however if it needed replacement...
Ordered my combo pack of the Typhoon Pro and Destination adapter to replace my returned Lectron on July 16th. Received notice of shipment on Thursday Aug 15th. So 1 month wait to the day for shipping. UPS says delivery this coming Thursday, so let's call that 5 weeks total. Not quite the 2 weeks...
I was on the phone yesterday with Ford BEV Engineering Support concerning getting CSP 23B57 installed on my 2023 Lightning and they told me that the ECG-24.2.4.10 update just distributed changes the packet size of the updates being sent to avoid errors on the previously used larger packet sizes...
I have to agree with Scorpio, the Lightning is my 3rd EV (still have a Bolt). I sold my gas powered Ford Pickup and went in to buy a Maverick hybrid. Walked out with the Lightning for 5k more and 24k off MSRP and options (including the 7.5k). I NEVER would have bought it without this MASSIVE...
I used those chargers back on July 4th. Several we damaged from collisions and I charged exactly as pictured. Very nice. However, this is one of the locations where my adapter overheated and shut off several times. With the exception of one spot in the shade, the entire charging site is in the...
That's interesting, I checked the Tesla app and it doesn't list Bucee's in Daytona or St Augustine as being available for NACS!!! I did charge at the Bucee's in Florence SC and that is listed in the tesla App as NACS compatible.
Thanks for the heads up...
I will be retuning my Lectron adapter and getting the A2Z based upon comments read here. I bought the Lectron based upon a review on the State of Charge Youtube channel recommendation. He obviously didn't test it in very high ambient temps.
So I just finished my 3000 mie round trip from Central Florida to Nj and back over 2 weeks. Exclusively used tesla changers (1 exception below) and my Lectron adapter. Some weird results.
1) Confirmed on both legs that the Lectron trips off when ambient temp is ABOVE 95 degrees every single...
I tried using the newly installed magic docks in north brunswick nj and the adapters would not come out. tried several times over a few days with no joy. other ccs guys were there (lightnings and rivians) same issue. i just used my adapter
I have had a failure every time I charge using the Lectron when ambient temps are above approx 95 degrees. runs for about 20 minutes and then trips off. i am going to try the wet rag suggestion today when i charge.
I am in the middle of a 2500 mile trip using Tesla chargers with the Lectron adapter. Charging always fails around the 20 minute mark when ambient temp is at or above 95 degrees. It has failed 4 times now. If I hold it under the a/c vent for a few minutes, all is fine for another 20 minutes or...
