  1. Top Lightning gripes or dislikes.

All wireless car chargers are useless (not just the Lightning’s). If you have a case substantial enough to provide any protection for your $1000 phone, it won’t wireless charge in the case.
  2. What do you set your "Home" charge limit to?

Tesla recommends charging my Model 3 RWD with Lithium-Iron-Phosphate (LFP) battery to 100% regularly. The lower charge-limit guidance is applicable to NCA (Nickel-Cobalt-Aluminum) batteries- including other Tesla models, and the present F150 Lightning.
  3. Do NOT Plug a 48A Connector into a 50A outlet to charge your EV.

Use two Tesla Wall Connectors for charging 2 EVs- they have a sophisticated load share feature, and so even though two 60amp circuits are used (one for each hardwired Wall Connector) you can configure the two chargers to draw a total of 48amps (80% of 60), and not overload your panel. (use...
  4. Any Wave 3 MY2023 Lightning order invites yet ?

I followed the link in the text message, no hiccups, no problems, and ordered a 2023 Lightning XLT on my iPhone! All legit, paid $500 deposit on credit card, received order no. with delivery estimate of Spring 2023.
  5. 2023 Lightning Build and Price is Live .... $5000+ increase in price

Um- the ratio of CPIs should be 109.1/107, not 9.1/7. So, XLT SR MSRP $52,974 x 109.1/107 =$55,843.90
  6. Ford Warns Dealers Against Additional Deposit / Payment Requirements For Lightning Orders. Supports No-Resale Provisions in Purchase Contracts

Don’t forget another motive for the buy-and-flip purchase: the EV tax credit, which goes only to the original purchaser. On the other hand, $7500 would cover little more than the sales tax/fees on the original purchase; a resale would have to be a lot more $$ than MSRP, to avoid a loss on the...
  7. List: F-150 Lightning dealers that do / don't apply ADM (price markup)

Sorry to be the one to point this out, but does anyone else see the connection between $7500 EV Tax Credits (let alone the possible $12.5k!) and ADM?? Kind of like the way college tuition shot through the roof when cheap student loans became available from the government? When will we ever learn…
  8. Dealers asking for $5K - $30K ADM markup on 2022 F150 Lightning!

Sorry to be the one to point this out, but does anyone else see the connection between $7500 EV Tax Credits (let alone the possible $12.5k!) and ADM?? Kind of like the way college tuition shot through the roof when cheap student loans became available from the government? When will we ever learn…
  9. Dealers asking for $5K - $30K ADM markup on 2022 F150 Lightning!

I don’t think so. Say, for example, your dealer has 80 reservations, and you’re number 7 by timestamp. (80 reservations allows the dealer 10 prioritizations among those reservations, dealer gets to choose which 10, and had until last Friday, 12/17, to report to Ford which of their assigned...
  10. [Update: Ford Denies and Maintains Deliveries Start in Spring] ? Ford Webinar Reveals New 2022 F-150 Lightning Timeline: Jan. Order Bank, June Prod...

I’m skeptical, simply because Ford has invested so much PR capital in announcing a “2022” Lightning. If “September deliveries” is correct, that would effectively mean the first trucks are 2023s, as Sept-Oct traditionally begins new model year deliveries. Can’t believe they’d nix the 2022 model...
  11. Uh, Oh... looks like the EV tax credits are hitting an obstacle

If I were Ford, I’d hold the MSRP of EVs $12.5k higher until the credits were used up…. anyone who thinks these EV credits benefit purchasers more than manufacturers needs to rethink.
  12. Six 2022 F-150 Lightnings spotted charging during testing, w/ first Oxford White look

Per leaked spec sheet, Pro seats are only 2-way seats (front/back, no back angle adjust). To get the seats you’d expect in a $40k vehicle, you have to buy the $52k XLT.
  13. Lightning Pro model with extended range. How to order?

I’m afraid I’m not seeing the appeal of a $40,000 truck with a 2-way adjustable driver’s seat (per preliminary specs). Vinyl’s no problem, might even be superior to leather, but who’d want a 2-way seat, in 2022?? It’s as though Ford felt they had to do something to poison the consumer appeal...
