Anybody know when the ramp up in production is supposed to start for the Lightning? They seem to be stuck on about 2000 units/month for a while now. Can’t imagine all 200,000 reservation holders will be invited by next summer at this rate
I don’t know why Ford is pushing CCS fast charging at their dealerships so hard. A lot of dealerships I’ve driven by are not located at a convenient road-trip stop location. If ford wants to make the Blue Oval network better, they should focus on putting chargers close to restaurants/ restrooms/...
Personally I’d keep it and derate it on a smaller breaker if you don’t want to do the 400A upgrade.
For what it is, it’s a pretty decent value considering I haven’t seen a 80A EV charger for less than $1000 recently. And if you ever move into a house with more capacity it’ll be nice to have the...
Makes sense for them to have commonality with certain aspects of the semi/cyber truck to make scaling production easier.
IMO This is a good thing for the future of the Lightning, since Ford will have to start competing on features/price or risk losing market share. I’m hoping Ford goes all in...
Just ordered a black gorilla set. I’m hoping the finish is durable because my only concern was them rusting if the finish gets marred from an impact gun. I guess I’ll try them for a while and switch to chrome if I have issues. Bummer to hear Ford still ships cars with the crappy two piece lugs
Usually can find stuff like that on eBay pretty regularly. I’m not the seller but here’s an example

Tesla is doing this in most European countries. It wouldn’t surprise me if they start installing CCS chargers in the US soon. Tesla also just introduced an adapter to charge Teslas at CCS plugs, so the communication hardware should be compatible to go the other direction.
Are there any physical differences between a 2022 and 2023 truck? Mine is supposed to be delivered in the spring and I’m looking at some Black Friday deals on accessories. Some things like floor liners are not listed for 2023 yet so I’m wondering if I’m safe ordering the 2022 ones.
From prior experience with other EVs, the winter range loss is more noticeable if you take lots of shorter trips vs a road trip. This is because it takes a good amount to get the battery and cabin up to temperature but after that, consumption can stabilize for the remainder of the trip. So doing...
From my understanding you have to order and take delivery by December 31 to get around the new MSRP caps in place. I’m in the same boat and am torn about the LR battery cause I don’t think It’ll qualify

I have Q-Cells and they seem like a solid panel. No issues so far but I’ve only had them a couple of years. I’ve heard good things about Silfab so I’d be comfortable with either brand.
We ended up going with Enphase microinverters instead of the SolarEdge inverter. It was comparable in price...
Pretty sure tire traction is gonna be the limiting factor for almost any EV truck when it comes to pulling power, especially in dirt/mud. I thought I saw an EV truck tug of war video where it turned into a contest to see which truck ended up spinning its wheels first.
Even performance EVs like...
They should be functional - I’ve seen examples of people towing and having slightly higher temps. If it’s staying dead center that means the car is regulating the temperature properly. As it gets colder the car won’t have to pump as much cold coolant through the battery to keep it at optimum...
It definitely seems like theres gonna be a catch…like selling out of everything except platinums knowing they can invite everyone and not that many will convert. Or they may accept a ton of orders but the production windows get pushed out indefinitely. This ramp up has been such a disaster for...
Although Tesla made a massive blunder trying to sell FSD software before it matured, It’s hard to ignore Tesla has raised the bar for continued software and hardware support, and hopefully others follow. The fact that original Model S owners can get new display computer upgrades (MCU2) and new...
RWD EVs have potential to be more efficient than AWD. Best example I am familiar with is in 2018 when Tesla offered its long range Model 3 with both RWD and AWD. The RWD was rated at 130 MPGe and the AWD was rated at 116 MPGe, or around a 10% difference in efficiency. This is primarily due to...
I really wish they would have had a comment section in the survey to elaborate on the reservation satisfaction process. I hope that they are eventually able to build a ER version of the truck at $79,999 to qualify for the tax credit.
It’ll be interesting to see how the conversion rate of the...
