Lots of folks assume they’ll get the epa rated range but in their ice vehicle they accept the tests are controlled and you’ll never hit the epa rated MPG.
Also, not unique to EVs is weather and driving behaviors. They all effect range in your EV…….and your ice vehicle. It’s just that we never...
They call it the guess o' meter for a reason. I just do the standard:
Battery Size * SoC * miles/kWh = range.
So if battery size is 131kWh at 50% SoC and you are getting 2.1 mi/kWh
(131kWh*.5)*2/1mi/kWh = 137.5mi*kWh/kWh
kWh cancels out and you get 137.5 mi of range.
I followed the dealer mannequin from the yard in PA to the dealer in central jersey and it took 11 days. Hopefully you do much better. Mine hit that same yard 3 days ago—so perhaps this coming Friday / Saturday.
I think the biggest issue with non-Tesla networks is that DCFC is not profitable. Every time your ICE car needs fuel you MUST visit a gas station.
DCFC is something done Less frequently; road trips and long distance commutes but as we know 90+% of charging is at home. DCFC already costs...
Mine is sitting in PA waiting for transport to the dealer. I don't think it will show up for a 5-7 days as I've been tracking time from that location to the dealer on a few other vehicles. I'd love to get it this weekend and try it out.
Mine seems to have been dropped at the bethel oaks PA pickup location. Now they need to deliver it to the dealer. I’m guessing about a week given how the dealer mannequin moved.
I had the feeling they felt there would be something punitive. The unit is not yet sold according to the sales manager. In the past they wouldn't take deposits on mannequins to they were able to be sold (MME, Bronco), so I think they are being truthful. My truck should be there by Friday or...
OK, trying again right now.
Edit: the truck is on CSX rail car TTGX996385. This new chat agent was way better than the last. Now I just need to find out how to track CSX rail cars. :)
How does everyone find out the shipping status? I see some of you know the rail car numbers your truck is being shipped on. I called Ford for a vehicle visibility report and they said go to the order status tracking page. I can't really get anything from them, not that it will change anything...
I’m gonna do that and actually create a sheet from PlugShare of all the locations along the route and their capability, distances between, etc. I find PlugShare details and photos to be very helpful.
I'm taking mine from NJ to Tallahasse, FL, back to Amelia Island, FL hanging out for a bit then back to NJ. The thought was overwhelming enough that I thought about letting a friend buy my Lightning and getting a diesel F250 Tremor. :). Talk about a complete difference but watching a bunch of...
A big bit of the difference is the ER battery as well. It really comes down to need. I wanted a comfy lariat ER because it's what we use instead of a family SUV. We plan on roadtripping it, although I have some trepidation about that.
