Failed again. wife and I have a 12 day cruise next week and the truck will be plugged in and closer to our home wi-fi. Hopefully the update will happen by time we return.
  4. 30 days of failed software updates and weird charging behavior. Suggestions?

Thanks all but still no go…..battery was low on volts so topped That up, failed. Just turned off the light (versus leave in auto) and trying again. I don’t lock it At home so maybe that’s the issues, it’s locked now.
  5. 30 days of failed software updates and weird charging behavior. Suggestions?

Thanks for weighing in. I just went down and put the 12V charger on it. if It’s this simple, I’m both relieved and annoyed. I’ll leave it as usual overnight and hopefully have new software in the morning.
  6. 30 days of failed software updates and weird charging behavior. Suggestions?

My 2022 Lariat ER has been trying to download software updates for a month and failing. the messages just say the update failed due to another activity blocking it. nomidea what that activity is. Last night I needed to get something out of it and I could hear my “charger” clicking on and then...
  7. When/will we see energy arbitrage for Lightning?

At the 7:00 mark he starts to discuss one of the things I’m most excited about. However, I’ve never read or heard anyone else mention this as something coming. Has anyone heard about if or when we will be able to play this energy arbitrage game? Tesla has all the components of this with...
  8. Leer Bed Cap Installed!

I’m pretty sure I know the answer but I’m going to ask for certainty. My Dad had a 2001 F150 Lariat extended cab with a topper. We pulled it off a decade ago and it’s been sitting on blocks under a tarp since then. If the bed is the same size (which I think mine is shorter) would it fit?
  9. Easy way to safely access backup power for home and free (for some PG&E customers)

FYI. Pg&e lists the F-150 as a BPTM (backup power transfer meter) as an approved “generator”. they may have always listed it but I don’t remember seeing it when I filled out my application so I applied with our Yamaha generator to qualify.
  10. Easy way to safely access backup power for home and free (for some PG&E customers)

I’m thinking this thing is unique and PG&E proprietary. I’d buy a few of these for my rentals, second home etc if PG&E made them available. I’m just happy I was able to get one for my home and my mother’s. Issue is we have just one truck…...
  11. Easy way to safely access backup power for home and free (for some PG&E customers)

Just went outside and snapped this. These are the only identifying marks on it.
  12. Easy way to safely access backup power for home and free (for some PG&E customers)

I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. My guess is the PGE model must differ from the Generlink one.
  13. Easy way to safely access backup power for home and free (for some PG&E customers)

on a side note….i reached out to the executive at PG&E who is quoted in many of The articles and has been one of the driving forces behind V2G to let him know how pleased I was with my ability to power our property with this new system. I sent him the link so he may be a fly on the wall. He...
  14. Easy way to safely access backup power for home and free (for some PG&E customers)

I did not build it. the short cord was purchased (link provided in previous posts) and the long cord was provided by PG&E. You’re welcome to come out and test it on your dime. ;). I have no goat in this race.
  15. Easy way to safely access backup power for home and free (for some PG&E customers)

    Here’s a more complete article direct from pg&e. https://www.pgecurrents.com/articles/3400-kind-technology-allows-pg-e-customers-safely-easily-connect-backup-power-homes
  16. Easy way to safely access backup power for home and free (for some PG&E customers)

That’s interesting. I’ve been assuming PG&E is using Generlink products just “white labeling” them as their own. However, I have seen it written that PGE created this device on their own. I simply don’t know but from what I’ve seen and what I have, they look identical. I do know this for a fact...

  18. Easy way to safely access backup power for home and free (for some PG&E customers)

That’s very cool. thank you for Sharing. I’ll have to run the test then And see what the truck reports as far as DRAW from the house. We were away last week at our mountain house when we lost power for a day at our primary residence and so I didn’t have the chance to put the truck to work. I...
  19. Easy way to safely access backup power for home and free (for some PG&E customers)

True. No way to manually override the system PG&E supplied. The off the shelf one may be different.
  20. Easy way to safely access backup power for home and free (for some PG&E customers)

I have a generator and listed it but no one ever checked for confirmation that I had it. my neighbor used the same generator model number and they didn’t check him either. Here’s a pic. We’ve had no outages since the first one but I’m fully confident in the setup for the next one. Best of luck...
