  1. Speed Limit Recognition Dangerous Behavior?

I've had my truck for 2 months now and have been driving with the speed limit recognition on. I enjoyed the automation; however, today for the first time significantly it was dangerously misreading signs. It was foggy out, but it's been foggy before without issue. Several times on different...
  2. How many Lightnings have you seen in the wild?

I have yet to see another Lightning in the wild. I've seen two Rivians. I live in the FL panhandle so it's a bit surprising Rivians are more popular. It also means my coworkers and friends know if they see a Lightning it's me lol.
  3. 🔊 Pedestrian sound alert speaker suppressor 🔫

I'm not sure if my hearing is better than others, but our trucks aren't nearly that quiet. Mine makes a noticeable motor whine, especially under 20mph. I have had zero issues to date of someone not noticing me. I frequently work nights and get home around 2 or 3am and wanted nothing to do with...
  4. VHF/UHF Radio Installation Video (Amateur/GMRS)

Out of curiosity, what do y'all use VHF and UHF for hobby wise? I use it everyday for normal work, never knew it existed in hobby format. I know HF was a thing, I've hit up MARS Radio before on some longer legs if you ever volunteer with those guys. Cool stuff.
  5. Power-Up 4.2.1 - Precondition Alert failed updates

I received 4.2.1 last night while I was eating dinner at a friend's. MY23 Lariat ER built in December. I live in a very warm area, 75+F daily already, so I imagine my 12V is plenty healthy. I have had no modem issues like many other MY23 owners have reported.
  6. Truck rolled/slid backwards while parked on hill

Consider gas vehicles might have enough latent heat to melt ice under the vehicle depending on how recently they were driven. It's been a while since I've seen snow, but my old crown Victoria used to keep spots clear after a drive with that massive iron v8 radiating heat.
  7. The 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning Is a Shockingly Good Electric Pickup Truck (Jalopnik Review)

Yah my Android Auto has really started acting better once I switched to a newer S23+. The charger doesn't heat the phone so much as it constantly stops charging, particularly if I go over normal bumps in the road.
  8. Issues With Exterior Frunk / Lock Buttons

I think that's how the owners manual refers to it, or I might me misremembering. I'm referring to what you're thinking of.
  9. Issues With Exterior Frunk / Lock Buttons

It's been close to if not warmer than 80F where I'm at. I think y'all might be right about the truck being locked. I usually don't keep the FOB on me, so when I open the frunk and the truck is locked, it works, but it won't shut unless I unlock it. Which sucks for loading groceries lol. The...
  10. Issues With Exterior Frunk / Lock Buttons

Has anyone else had issues getting the Frunk to shut? If I press the button, it'll open, but sometimes it won't shut. I'll try a light push than a heavier one, but no movement. On the flip side, sometimes I press it and the Frunk starts moving, feels the pressure of my finger, and stops. I have...
  11. Northern IL to Florida Panhandle 1,000 mile Trip Report

I wasn't responding to you, I was responding to the other user asking about SR VS ER performance.
  12. Northern IL to Florida Panhandle 1,000 mile Trip Report

I have averaged 2.4 since I bought my truck, and recently many of my trips are as high as 3.1. No hypermiling required, it's just calm winds most days and Temps are mid 70s. I do mostly suburban driving since I don't live near an interstate. So far, the Lightning has been killing it efficiency wise.
  13. Northern IL to Florida Panhandle 1,000 mile Trip Report

I reached out to FPL and some local chambers of commerce regarding installing DC fast chargers in the panhandle now that FPL owns the area. They seemed receptive and I know the Fort Walton area said they're pushing to have some installed. Edit: Wanted to add, for those in the area or Florida in...
  14. New Frunk in Town- Cybertruck Beta Videoed

I don't think it will have nearly the impact you're suggesting. Most vehicles are already made in large casts and welded together. 48V does offer a lot, but they're not the first to discuss it, it just hasn't seen mainstream pick up yet. The simple interiors and similarity between vehicles and...
  15. New Frunk in Town- Cybertruck Beta Videoed

In terms of the giga press or making and using their own 48v architecture? I think Tesla is already running about as lean as you can get. That's not a bad thing, it is very effective, but I'm not sure how much more costs they can trim. I guess we'll see.
  16. my bluecruise is active on any road

I love the lane centering where it steers for me. I keep my hand on the wheel with enough grip to immediately take control, but it handles the majority of my day to day driving really well. I've never had anything like it and I love it so far. It significantly reduces my drivers fatigue. I'm a...
  17. New Frunk in Town- Cybertruck Beta Videoed

I just don't get this truck. I thought it was dumb long before they ever announced the Lightning, so I wouldn't call it bias since I drive a competitor's truck. The dash is absurdly long, and it's all unused space. This also means that A-pillar blind spot seems massive, plus if you want to tint...
  18. Android auto making outgoing calls not working

Last follow up with Ford, Sync team expects a solution with a future update. The CS rep said to expect one by the end of March, she made it seem like that may resolve the issue but I'm not sure that's 100% true. I guess we'll see what we get later this month. In the meantime, switching from a 21...
  19. Northern IL to Florida Panhandle 1,000 mile Trip Report

I'm not too far from you, maybe we'll see each other.
