Yeah I think they took different trains. Last known location of mine was KC yesterday and it arrived somewhere at 5:30 AM today, but I have not gotten the location for that as of yet.
Updates to ‘loaded interchange receipt’ last night. I’m assuming that means it hasn’t physically moved, but BNSF is now in possession of the car from IHB.
UP says loaded interchange delivery 11pm last night origin ramp Milpitas- is that location just a default?
CSX has a September release in WA, so their tracker has not picked up this journey.
My completely amateur assumption is that they plug in some form of start and end points and get back an optimal route of transit based on availability, etc. Mine is probably going to Omaha and taking a ride across town, where yours might be on NS line to Lincoln and going back NE, based on an...
Clarification on the rail journey in case it helps anyone else keep track of their progress-
It was put on Canadian National and made it to the CN Markham, IL (south Chicagoland) yard from Flat Rock. The car is scheduled to depart at 12AM 10/13 (approx 24 hours after arrival at the CN yard?) for...
The CN guy was a little mumbly, but I think it’s scheduled to depart in around 12 hours. He didn’t sound too sure of what was going on. It might be at the CN yard a few miles south of the IHB blue island yard, just based on maps and things. I might call back and see if I can get a more clear...
CN now says that it’s in Riverdale, IL (south Chicagoland) departing just after midnight from there on IHB, which seems funky because IHB just seems to wrap around and into Chicago.
Trains are weird, man.
UP says the railcar # I was provided left Milpitas at 2AM. The route is allegedly Dearborn - Battle Creek on CN and hand off there to BNSF to go to Omaha.
Something is off. I checked the number from my ford chat screenshot and did UP trace twice.
I bet we’re different cars on the same train.
At this point I’m just hoping that I can take delivery before next Saturday when I leave for a week out of the country. Truck delivery anxiety would not be fun on vacation.
CN says that it departs around 12, or any moment, from Flat Rock then it goes to Battle Creek for handoff to BNSF. Will there be different tracking, or does the railcar # carry through the handoff and track with BNSF?
