I was under the impression that the instructions supplied with all the adapters say to plug the Tesla cable into the adapter first. But if this is working for you, then I guess it can't be too critical.
Can you update with the info for speedometer calibration? Old thread here: https://www.f150lightningforum.com/forum/threads/how-to-use-forscan-to-recalibrate-speedometer-for-bigger-tires.1503/
Dog mode should be a little different. It should disable the interior window, door lock, maybe heated seat switches, and display something on the screen.
Also, dog mode or not, we should be able to check the climate control status (running or not) and interior temperature via the app at any...
For my current use case, no. It's fine the way it is.
But if I did a lot of towing, and/or high speed highway road trips, then yes I would be waiting for a truck with a range extender (and therefore probably no frunk).
Everything is a compromise. The current Lightning setup is fantastic for...
Bottom line, no, not all V3 (or V4) stations are enabled for CCS. There may be hardware or software updates needed, but even if those are all in place, it is up to Tesla to flip the switch. They may keep some stations Tesla only at their discretion.
Are you talking about Ford adapters? This is the A2Z thread. I would expect replacements would be shipped in the order the replacements were requested, nothing to do with the original order date/number.
The free adapters with purchase ended a while back, and Ford isn't selling them from the parts department yet. You will have to go third party for now. A2Z, TeslaTap, or Lectron are the leading options.
Around here I believe it is the same for non-Tesla vehicles either way. Ford doesn't charge a premium vs the Tesla app. Your Tesla is probably cheaper. But they don't publish Tesla owner prices so that's hard to tell. I honestly don't know if they price it any differently for a non-Tesla who is...
Fun fact: in Canada a double double is a coffee. Two cream, two sugar.
Slightly more on topic... with some of these adapters I've heard you have to push really really hard, like all your weight against the ground, to get the NACS side locked into the adapter properly until it clicks. Especially...
I thought the new thing here was some OTA update that started turning on lane keeping as well when you meant to just use the cruise control.
I hope I never get that; I have zero interest in lane keeping (or BlueCruise for that matter). If it is forced on me I'll have to figure some way to...
As I understand it, CarPlay defaults to the most recently used mapping app. Which sounds good on the surface. But whether it's a "bug" or not, I guess something ABRP is doing in the background counts as "running" so it then gets marked as the most recent app.
I think Apple will have to tweak...
Bit of a difference from some existing CCS chargers. I have charged where it's literally out back of a Canadian Tire right beside the dumpsters. And of course no amenities... having toilets available would be amazing; the rest is icing on the cake
Welcome to Lightning ownership lol
For me it was quite a long time before any updates started to show up. Several months at least. I think I'm more or less caught up now after almost a year of ownership but you will never know for sure ? The process is... not great.
You can search "guess O meter" or "GOM" for plenty of discussion on the topic. LOL. The estimated range is rarely accurate. It's based on recent driving habits. So if you've been doing lots of slow speed city driving it will be higher; lots of high speed highways and it will be lower.
Most...
Just for the record, it is not factory enabled on all units in Canada. Maybe only a few, or only early ones? I don't know if anyone has researched. My 23 XLT ER built May 23 didn't have it.
Just to clarify. If your Sierra does not have CarPlay, then it doesn't have Android Auto either (extension of phone screen, apps running on phone). It has Android Automotive (embedded version of Android running on hardware in the truck, phone not involved).
I wish they'd used a better name for...
I did the hex edit. Didn't look for any user friendly interface for it. Instructions here: https://www.f150lightningforum.com/forum/threads/recalibrating-speedometer-sensors-after-lift-and-bigger-tires.1058/post-19844
That is certainly how the Tesla UMC works, and I was under the impression that's how the Ford (Webasto) does it too. The whole point of this discussion is that the Lightning ignores that and limits it to 12 amps on the car side on 120V, no matter what the EVSE says.
I mean, none of them "set...
True. I thought you kind of implied it was a necessary safety feature though. In my opinion it's a "misfeature". There are common situations where 120V at >15 amps is available safely - e.g. the campground TT-30 that sparked this discussion, and plenty of smaller generators. It's a bad...
