1) yes they seem more finicky on the lightning compared to my powerboost and the 2019 ranger we had previously.
2) I believe the sound you here are relays for the proximity lighting.
?? I recommend checking with the DMV too. It’s unfortunate the NYDMV has not updated any of their rules when it comes to the weight of trucks. Those weight rules have been that way since I started driving and I am old!! Lol
If that is true someone at the dealer or at the DMV made a mistake. The link for the PDF that I posted clearly states any pickup over 6000#s requires commercial plates. When I traded my 5.4 supercab raptor in on a 6.2, the new one was over 6000# and I was required to get commercial plates. It...
I have this happen with my powerboost and my wife’s lightning sometimes. It seems like I have to press the pedal a little harder than my previous trucks.
Put basic minimum coverage (no collision) on your sons car. At what they are charging you, you can buy him another $15,000 car every 6 months. That’s crazy!
If you leave the truck running with the key fob inside with you pet (or a human) and hit the two buttons to lock it, pulling the exterior handle will definitely not unlock the door. Could someone smash the window and steal our truck? Sure……but our 60 pound pit bull is very protective of his...
the truck does not unlock by grabbing the handle from outside after you press the 7/8 9/0 button. It’s the same as sitting in the truck with it running and locking the doors. They do not unlock if someone walks up and pulls the handle. That would be silly.
We have State Farm. Both trucks have commercial plates (NY requirement on lightning because of weight)
My 2022 f150 lariat powerboost is $895 a year. I am 51 with clean driving record.
My wife’s 2022 lightning lariat ER is $850 a year. She is 37 with clean driving record.
Interesting side note...
Technically if you add any “new”electrical you need to get it inspected by a approved electrical inspector.
Depends where you live on whether or not electrician needs to be licensed. Would be a question for your local code enforcement.
Mine is the same way in my 22 Powerboost. I have driven several F150s with the fold down shifter and they are all the same. Eventually I believe they will go to the knob like the other EV vehicles or touch screen selection. We truck people do not like change. lol
My Email yesterday stated, in part:
"Big things are happening right now. We are excited to let you know your 2022 F-150 Lightning LARIAT SuperCrew has been scheduled for production. Your vehicle is scheduled to be built the week of April 25, 2022"
This is moves our build date up from May 2...
I received the same email. I was excited until I saw the “fall” . Haven’t been able to find many people that received that email with the fall time frame mentioned.
