  1. July no NACS shipments in 4 weeks

Order # 12952 , originally June, then July, now September.
  2. Pics of Lightning Trucks Doing Truck Things. Post Yours! 📸

Soooo the California Vehicle Code, as I understand it, says you can have loads extend no further than 2/3rds your wheelbase length beyond the vehicle, or in our case about 97". The kayaks are 14'- 10". As long as the "vehicle" includes the tailgate in the down position, I'm good, I think.
  3. Update: F-150 Lightning Fast Charging Tesla Adapters Start Shipping TODAY Per Ford!

Placed order 29 Feb 24, 11:12 am PST, #12952. Said June, no changes yet...
  4. Newly Designed: FordPass 5.0 App®: What to Know

When I hit the "Energy" button I get a message that says "Energy Features Disabled - To enable turn on Driving Data...". I turned on Driving Data in the vehicle, rebooted the phone (app), turned the vehicle on and off a few times, waited an hour, still doesn't work. Thoughts?
  5. Has Anyone Encountered Runaway Throttle?

I thought that it may have been a cruise control issue, and it still could have been, but then that would say something about it not turning off when I applied the brakes. I wasn't aware enough at the time to notice whether the cruse control indicator was lit up. It was a bit harrowing, other...
  6. Has Anyone Encountered Runaway Throttle?

Experienced "runaway throttle" yesterday. After a hard acceleration the vehicle would not drop back to "idle". I ended up keeping constant pressure on the brake pedal, pulled off to the side and had to essentially stand on the bakes to keep from moving. Shifted into N, then Park, and when put...
  7. Battery Monitor Sensor Replacement

Mine cleared after a few days
  8. 240V charger blowing breaker

My Emporia charger allows me to adjust the charging rate up to 48A. I frequently charge below 48A because the 49ers lost. Is that not "direct" control? Forgive me if I'm a bit grumpy...
  9. Ford to Offer Complimentary Tesla Supercharger Adapter to Eligible Lightning Owners (1/31/24 Update)

“The nice part about being a pessimist is that you are constantly being either proven right or pleasantly surprised.” ― George F. Will
  10. I just got an update...

I'm not seeing the "Recent Changes" option, anybody else in my boat? Also, while I'm at it, is anybody else's WiFi turning off by itself in the vehicle?
  11. Density of Lightnings in your area...

In the North Bay Area, I rarely see Lightnings, probably see Rivians on a 10:1 basis. I don't get it. It may be that the ag folks (think spoiled grape juice) are actually not spending as much time on the public roads, ie actually using them as trucks. Tesla is the #1 selling car in CA, at...
  12. Have you ever seen your motor or battery temperature gauges move?

Four days after my previous Lightning was returned to me after a couple of battery module replacements, my motor temperature shot up and initiated the requisite bells and whistles. Back to the dealer it went, evidently it took four days of driving and a couple hundred miles to move a bubble of...
  13. Powertrain Malfunction/ Reduced Power

Update: Lemon-lawed the beast. Dropped it off at the dealer today and picked up my check. Drove 60 miles to a dealer that tried harder and bought another one. Same damn truck except this one was made 11 months after the first one. So yeah, I'd recommend it to others, if anyone is asking.
  14. Powertrain Malfunction/ Reduced Power

OK, I dallied too close to the sun and annoyed the gods, and they have put me in my place. "Motor Coolant over temperature", back to the dealership, another rental car (4th), and the beat goes on.
  15. Powertrain Malfunction/ Reduced Power

I think I found the problem. We do Construction Management, it looks like you do planning as well, so it seems Ford does a deep scan of our backgrounds, determines who spends the most time staring at construction schedules, and then targets those people with multiple battery module...
  16. Powertrain Malfunction/ Reduced Power

Got mine back today. 10 weeks at the dealership. Not sure that any of the details will help anyone else. It does appear to be a crapshoot with respect to parts availability, knowledge of parts availability, proficiency/experience of the tech working on the vehicle, and perhaps the phase of the...
  17. Help me pick the best deal

Another - admittedly pessimistic - view. If you were to have a problem and were to unfortunately have to pursue a CA Lemon Law case, the calculation for the used miles assumes a 120K mile lifespan. $60k/120k mi = $0.50 per mile. For an arbitrary trip from say Salina KS to Laguna Nigel, some...
