Lots of info elsewhere on the Lectron. It can be very difficult to disconnect the Tesla line from the adapter several tricks can be used. Initially, I tried using a clamp, but subsequently ground down the connecting lock with a Dremel tool, and that seems to have done the trick There are...
"So he took a dremel grinding tool to a slight rise of the front of the inside latching part of the NACS disconnect button that seemed to fix the problem"
I did that and it also seemed to resolve the problem for me, but I still keep the clamp handy just in case.
I’ve posted elsewhere on the forum about my experience with the Lectron adapter I ended up using a clamp, but since reading about Grinding down the catch with the Dremel tool, I tried that. It seemed to work perfectly. It doesn’t take much and really isn’t very difficult to do, but if you have...
I doubt that is the issue. Both mine stuck after only a brief charge to test the unit. Haven’t yet tried it since leaving the clamp on, but at least I feel I can get it off with the clamp. Again, maybe stronger hands would help
I have the Lectron. First one I had to return because the release from the Tesla plug was so stiff, we almost couldn’t remove it. Replacement is somewhat better but still very difficult. Admittedly at age 86, I don’t have great hand strength. I’m trying to work it in with a clamp and it seems a...
Received my replacement Lectron. Still very hard to release the Tesla cable but better. Had to use a clamp, but at age 86, I don’t have great hand strength. Hopefully it will loosen. Better than nothing!
#7196. - me either. Did receive replacement Lectron but haven't tried it yet. !st one had to return because of the disconnect switch stuck to the point where it was almost impossible;e to disconnect
Finally got my Lectron a couple of weeks ago. I finally had to use a crow bar to the adapter from the charging cable. Returned it with promise of immediate replacement. Just today got a notice a new one was shipping out. Due Sat when we will be away. Also sent a label for return...
Ongoing saga with Lectron, They are balking at a refund. My latest response to them:
"Once again, I checked the tracking and the unit has not been shipped. Please cancel the return and refund my purchase price. This has gone on far too long and your promise of immediate replacement has not...
Still no replacement sent for my defective Lectron adapter in spite of their indication that a new one would be sent out. Quite disappointing. I was hoping Lectron would step up to the plate. Now regretting I didn't go with A2Z
Received reply from Lectron with return shipping label. Will return it in the AM hoping for a quick replacement. Other than the latch release, it is sturdy and seems to work well. Keeping my fingers crossed after waiting so long.
first use with new Lectron adapter - the news is not too good.
I just received my Vortex plug supercharger to CCS1 adapter. On its first use, we were successfully able to charge the vehicle. However, after charging, we were virtually unable to unlock the charging cable by pressing the NACS...
Lectron coming tomorrow. Delay in shipping by USPS. (what do you expect). Latch defect supposed to be corrected but even if not, better than nothing. I notice here that everyone goes for A2Z whereas on other sites, Lectron is often chosen. To me, 6 of 1, 1/2 dozen of the other.
