  1. Additional Battery Capacity by Removing Spare Wheel/Tire

I would appreciate an answer to how much more battery capacity could be added if the volume the current spare occupies would be re-allocated to additional battery capacity. For example, 4 cubic meters would equal 18 kWh of additional capacity. (Note these numbers are just examples). It’s a...
  2. Additional Battery Capacity by Removing Spare Wheel/Tire

I’m hearing MY ā€˜24 may have additional battery capacity to better compete with the new trucks. thinking removing the spare is a logical spot.
  3. Any physics majors at Ford?

This has to be a joke: Roof mounted battery F=ma dictates this battery will break free of most mounting hardware in a collision and send said battery in the direction of travel. Safest place to be is in the Ford vehicle that used to have a reserve battery on the roof! note: main battery is...
  4. SolarEdge is making a home DCFC

I am signing up for the Enphase integration unit which will support V2H, etc. EnPhase will be following the newer V2H standard adopted by IEEE. Question remains if Ford will update the software on the existing trucks or only support the Sunrun unit for the ā€˜22-ā€˜24 Lightnings. I have my doubts.…
  5. Estimates on 2022 lightning resale value in 2 years?

The longer range trucks will push Lightning values down unless a battery upgrade becomes available.
  6. Does NACS (Tesla) support V2H?

Just wondering given all the discussion around the announcement yesterday. I’m hoping Ford will install the NACS connector on the ā€otherā€ side so both connectors are provided. (Yes I know some character will try to use both at the same time and fry the Truck!)
  7. 2024 Lightning

Actually no. Make a few calls. I have. Dealers have ā€˜22s and ā€˜23s sitting on lots. Biggest selection is in the middle of the country. Many are walking away from their orders given the price increases and removed items. With the 400+ mile range trucks coming online, the trend will accelerate...

  9. 2024 Lightning

If the cybertruck and/or silverados are shipping in volume a battery upgrade will be required. Hopefully move the spare into the bed and add more battery. it would be nice to see the extended cab offered. if they can’t get all the parts for the stated features, they might as well pause...
  10. I can’t take this again

Had this happen on the Mach E. The cause was one of the fobs had been left on the table adjacent to the garage. The car was just cycling the walk away auto lock but wait let’s get ready for the approaching owner. we moved the fob to its normal location and all was well.

what was the charge percentage of your truck at the time?
  12. Silverado EV rated at 450 miles by the EPA estimate

In reasonable volumes, this is a game changer. any reason the Lighting battery bay couldn’t be fitted with such a battery?
  13. Are rodents a threat to the Lightning?

I obtained electronic rodent repellants (speakers and flashing lights) to protect the cars. There is a big unit for the large garage area. The high value cars have the small and louder device slid under the engine compartment. The cars that live outside, have the devices installed in the engine...
  14. Dealer installed factory deleted options

I spoke at length with a service manager. exec summary: I passed in my 23 order. TL;DR Seats would likely need to be replaced - not rebuilt - due to internal wiring harnesses and airbags. Other modules are easy enough to install and program with Forscan. Issue is wiring harnesses. If the...
  15. Lightning featured in latest PBS NOVA documentary: Chasing Carbon Zero

Pretty good coverage! Charging tribulations on road trip was a little silly.
  16. Complete list of mods/accessories on MY23 Pro

Respectfully I would keep the tall antenna as it also lets you know you might be about to scrape the cab roof on a low ceiling. ask me how I know…
  17. Convert reservation to ‘24 MY?

I’m thinking Ford will have all the required parts available by the next model year. Any idea how to do this? Will it just roll over if I don’t pull the trigger this ’23 MY or will Ford issue a refund?
