  1. Farley believes he knows how to beat the Chinese on EVs

They definitely hyped the truck during the release, and the early adopters plus the low quantity available lead to shameless over-MSRP pricing. Now the tables are turned, and we the buyers' are in the Drivers' seat (finally) and with all the over supply sitting in plain sight on the dealer lots...
  2. Coming flood of Used EV's ...

Seems more like they are acting in Fear.
  3. Farley believes he knows how to beat the Chinese on EVs

I did a search: this is what it says about pick up truck owners: In the United States, pickup trucks are a major source of revenue for car manufacturers, and they account for a significant portion of total vehicle sales. However, most pickup truck owners don't use their trucks for work or...
  4. Coming flood of Used EV's ...

If they are, then as consumers, we can expect the "flood" of used EV's all at once to lower the cost of all EV's for a short period of time. (yes an exess of used EV's will also lower the selling price of new EV's since excess supply will lower the price consumers will be willing to pay). Bad...
  5. Coming flood of Used EV's ...

Why? It cost tax dollars to install them, what is wrong with just letting them run now that these were installed? If they don't want to build any more, then don't, but allow the ones they paid to install to run. Shutting them down cuts off any potential repayment of the initial cost to build...
  6. Farley believes he knows how to beat the Chinese on EVs

Between my wife and I we have three vehicles, one is ICE and we mostly loan it out to visiting family while they are here, or use it for a long trip where we don't know if chargers will be available - or we don't want to wait for charging. With the cost of hwy fast chargers nearly matching...
  7. Pickup my new Lightning Flash next week!

Be prepared to spend some time talking about, and test driving people around in the new Truck. I have found people are super interested in what this truck is like, and lots of them ask me "can I see the inside? is it as fast as they say?" People I know all say the same thing as soon as they see...
  8. Farley believes he knows how to beat the Chinese on EVs

That EV recycle place gets EV packs from all over Canada - I only know about it because a car I was 'watching' in Dryden Ontario had the EV battery shipped to Edmonton for testing and re-sale (meaning I missed out on getting it !) The wrecker here told me there are only two or three depots in...
  9. FordPass 5.13.0 for IOS

Yes to both, did exactly this today - pulled out the phone, go to FordPass and hit the charge now - set it to 90% charge - all good it works. Where can I see what version the firmware is? I don't think this shows on the App.
  10. Farley believes he knows how to beat the Chinese on EVs

Just an FYI - I build DIY 15.5kWh battery packs for my off-grid-Solar home twice per year. These packs use Lithium-Iron-Phospate prismatic cells that are the re-jects from the higher quality automovtive grade cells (that are x2 or x3 the cost per cell). I build each 15.5 kWh pack for a little...
  11. Farley believes he knows how to beat the Chinese on EVs

The point was: a generator designed to suit one set point steady load (like the RE situation) can be more efficient than a traditional genny that has to contend with infinitely variable loads/conditions. "That ain't gona change when they stuff one in a RE-EV" is an incorrect statement.
  12. Farley believes he knows how to beat the Chinese on EVs

Yes, it is completely different scenario - in a RE application, the generator can be tuned and designed for one steady output at maximum efficiency, unlike the inefficient stand-alone generators you noted, that need to react to loads, to run up and down a wide range of output to match the load...
  13. CEO Farley: Ford is Going to 100% Online, Fixed-Price Sales For EVs

It seems to me, the dealers "have had it too good" for far too long, (monopoly) and will be the ones that need to adapt to a new paradigm. The fact that EV's don't need constant maintenance and dealer support draws a lot of attention to the failings of ICE vechicles in general, failings that we...
  14. Pickup my new Lightning Flash next week!

Congrates on the new truck!! - got mine a week ago, and all I do now is look for excusses to go drive it. Be Right Back...LOL
  15. Farley believes he knows how to beat the Chinese on EVs

I "wanted one" from the initial release date, but had to wait for the high prices and over MSRP thing to come and go. Now with so many sitting on the dealer's lots, there is finally a buyer's market. I was able to find lots of 2024's still on the dealer lots in January 2025...making it finally...
  16. CEO Farley: Ford is Going to 100% Online, Fixed-Price Sales For EVs

Interesting to read over this thread from 2022 - never happened, and now 'negotiated price' means paying far below MSRP - for now, at least - while it is a buyers' market.
  17. FordPass 5.13.0 for IOS

Doesn't work?? Really? I didn't know there was an existing problem, I have used it multiple times, had the truck only a week so far. Could there be a difference with firmware version or something?
  18. Farley believes he knows how to beat the Chinese on EVs

Awesome truck - will be driving this one for at least a decade.
  19. 34" tires on stock - THEY FIT

Interested - hope you post the net results for everyone here. I myself am interested in options for next winter, will run the factory set until next fall, then switch to a more suitable winter tire.
