After all these glowing reviews, I'm not watching the video.
I looked at this and it told me there are updates available! (No s**t, I've not had one since 11/6.) "Connect to wifi by following this guide to activate immediate downloads" ...yeah, except that's entirely BS.
Getting this...
Yes, I just hadn't been able to act on it until now. Inelegantly resolved now, but this is a problem that needs solved as a lot of city-dwellers who need a car don't have any ability to charge at home.
I'm actually less interested in knowing what the data is and more why following the recommendation of "plug the thing in and connect it to wifi after driving it for 30+ min" hasn't made any odds for me on the software update side. I'm still on 3.5.4 and they're telling me to take it to the...
If you aren't lucky enough to have 2 DCFC locations within a mile of you like I am, you could plug the mobile charger you received into a 240V outlet (e.g. a 14-50p), like I could (I don't have one yet - complications here mean it's not as simple as just installing an outlet).
...but despite...
I had an issue with this until I realized I was holding the inside of the handle a bit while pressing the button... and it only seems to work if you just hit the button. ...until of course you tap it 5-7 times before it activates.
Not a truck problem itself but not having a way to charge at...
Every EV-owner I've met has tried to tell me "it never gets old". It did get super old the moment it dropped below freezing here. 1.1kWh/mi on a few trips and I'm hoping for warmer weather like I never have in years past.
That's... dumb.
More configuration buttons/options. They don't even need to physically add more to the truck because of the infernal touchscreen!
Let's have an advanced mode ?
(y) how dumb!
Oh yeah, on 110 I wasn't expecting to do anything more than precondition the battery! That alone really helped.
I just don't really get the logic of not warming the coolant in these temps. I'd balance not heating the cabin if it heated the damn battery a little. It's shared to be...
Using iOS. CarPlay options don't seem to exist for Car Scanner for me anywhere in the phone (or I'm missing something real obvious). So I'm guessing you're running the Android version of Car Scanner on the linked Carlinkit box? That'd make sense! (But makes me wish I could find one of those...
+1 on the schematic. I'd really like to see how the install actually integrates!
That said the Ford schematics are readily available. It would be pretty straight-forward to show integration points.
If the battery needs to be cooled you'd probably want to turn the heater off ;)
I'd recommend...
Potentially dumb question: is this something that's available to regular humans?
I'm not convinced they're sending diagnostic data over wifi, unless mine's just an introvert (see image). I've never seen more than kb, despite having seen some interesting error codes via Car Scanner and the...
I’m starting to think so. After 3 days unplugged I hopped in this morning (26º outside) and according to Car Scanner it was at the highest SoC I’ve seen yet.
My experience with my hardwired dashcam: it certainly cuts out when the 12V battery drops to the cutoff point, and often doesn’t come on...
Thanks for all the info, this is great! One question though:
Car Scanner app - do you mean this? I'm interested in showing that kinda data on the main screen!
I’ve warned people about things in years past too, but it becomes apparent that unfortunately some lazy assholes don’t have the foresight to read every post of every forum on the internet - despite having the access!
