See if pfsense shows two devices pop up (two new MAC addresses) when you turn on WiFi in your truck. If they both get IP addresses and you can ping them you're in good shape. If one of them just sits there sending DHCP DISCOVER over and over again...you have the problem.
The truck has two separate computers in it both of which will try to use your WiFi. The DHCP client in the ancient QNX operating system on one of them has serious bugs which make it unable to reliably get a network address from many routers. Since QNX is basically dead it's unlikely Ford will...
Not sure what to say - 1.4 is the kind of number I see in 10F weather with my 18" winter wheels and snows mounted, blasting along on the highway in the high 70s late for a race. I have some trouble believing the AT tires make _that_ much of a difference...
I try to keep it under 80 but those are the kind of numbers I see cruising at 78-79. More on the low side of that, but I don't know that I've ever seen a dip down below 1.7 except in the absolute deepest winter - which is pretty deep around here.
You can see/change at least some of the Connected Services settings via Ford's website with a browser, can't you? I think I remember finding that while trying to sign up for the original, doomed discounted monthly EA plug-and-charge plan. If I'm remembering right and you can adjust this via a...
Sure, if you count the energy that goes up the flue. But obvious that doesn't heat the cabin. Unless it condenses its exhaust gas, a burner like this, heating a liquid through a heat exchanger, is probably somewhere in the 65-80% range in the real world. Still a lot better than 20%.
The all-terrain tires aren't helping, though the effect is likely small. Most 18" rims that are rated for the ER Lariat's weight are less aerodynamic than either of the stock rims (the stock 18" rim is hard to order and super expensive) so you may not actually gain anything by going to a...
Pixel 6. Unlike @TaxmanHog, I was able to delete and recreate the PAAK from the FordPass app - the only thing I had to use the Sync4a screen for was to set a new passphrase since when I deleted the phone it deleted the associated passphrase as well.
Just a heads up to everyone with Android 14 rolling out this week - I had to delete my PAAK and repair it after the upgrade to get things working again. It seems to be stable now.
Okay, maybe there are driving habits with which you can get 10% better range by swapping one set of non-aero wheels, with the exact same tires, for another (whether these wheels have "aero" in their marketing names or not, if they don't have caps covering the entire wheel face, they're not...
It's likely to be a pretty different setup. A heat pump is similar in theory but a lot of the implementation will be different in practice - especially if it's going to achieve a high COP at low temperatures.
Also some relatively fancy multi-way valves are used at least in Tesla's design to...
I think we're talking past one another. If you're interested in why, you might look at the rest of the paragraph you grabbed that one sentence from.
Anyway, I do not have a HIS so I have not much at stake here. I'll exit this thread now.
Gee, I wonder why you chose to slice up my text just where you did. As I said:
Let me know when Google or ChatGPT find you another industrial-control system that uses wireless for the communications between its tightly-coupled components which are already directly connected by wires.
This...
I love my little battery-powered brad nailer but I would not try to use it to frame a house; and I wouldn't use the Paslode gun on trim.
Using wireless for the communications between the components of this tightly-coupled system, which are already directly connected by wires, is a bad choice...
I don't understand. If you want to coast using one pedal, just let off the gas slower. The F150's regen in 1-pedal mode is somewhere between the default regen settings of my old Model S (just about perfect) and my Model Y (a little too much).
But on all of these vehicles, regen can be...
The fundamental design flaw of using wireless communications between all the parts - which are already connected by wires, including both power (which could carry control signaling via HomePlug etc) and, for some components, dedicated control wiring - is not really suggestive of a design team...
OK, more than a little late to the party on this one, but, I might have just figured out what you and I saw with these chargers at "72A".
According to the Tesla docs page there are two versions of the Gen1 HPWC. The 72A DIP switch settings for one are the settings for 24A on the other...
Wow, I never knew there were two versions ("A/B" and "C/D") of the Gen1 wall connector. I've never seen one of the ones without the 72A switch setting. I wonder what other differences they have?
