You could use that one and disconnect after the sensor I suppose. I don't know if it would make a difference electrically. Might be worth a try. These things thankfully don't cost a lot so experimenting is inexpensive, and I can always use the extras on stuff like my tractor or mower, etc.
This one.
I did have to pull the cable retainers out of the battery tray to give me some extra slack. The switch is also a bit offset as you can see to clear the battery access cover.
If I find a better one I'll be changing this one out. I'd like to find one where the input and output posts...
I just did the TRM and TCU this morning (along with re-trying the RFA with predictable results...).
I haven't gotten any warnings yet. But now that I have a 12V battery cutoff switch..if that becomes necessary then it's an easy fix.
WAL only works on trucks that have gotten the BCM update. There is supposedly an OTA version that eventually will show up for people who haven't gotten the dealer tech to do the FDRS version of the update. No idea when that will happen, though.
I have this BCM update and the later gateway...
Ya know, I had the "failed to get manifest from FENIX" thing several times during my last two APIM updates, but I eventually got the downloads to work. They say it's a network issue when that happens, but it must be on Ford's end, cause every other update done during the same session seems to...
Anything with an RFA in it (Lariats and above I believe).
Having said that...I guess it won't work with just using the fob? That seems strange that they'd have a menu option for something that will only work via Bluetooth and a phone. Wondering why they couldn't make it work with just the fob...
Got a new trailer module update in the list this morning...along with the 'persistent' ACM and RFA updates that either won't update properly, or do update but won't clear off the list. It's not clear which.
Not that I'm aware of.....why won't they do it? Or is it they want to get paid to do it.......?
EDIT...if it's going out as an OTA that's news to me...but okay.
Doing all these updates should make the daily SOBDM and SOBDMC DTCs that were happening for most people stop, and the limitations on the power transfer issues would go away.
Bear in mind that other updates may immediately pop up once these are started.
You may run into issues this morning if you plan on doing any updating.
This is also affecting some functionality on PTS.
I'll check it later and advise if I see it come back up.
You actually have to *delete* your home location and then charge and save it again, and then you can save your limit again. I know it's a PITA, but I've had to do this a couple of times with both the MME and the Lighting over the last couple of years after doing some updates.
Before your next commute do the BMS reset procedure and then see if that helps.
Press the start button without putting your foot on the brake to put the truck in Accessory mode.
Flash the high beams 5 times with the stalk.
Step on the brake pedal 3 times, and watch the instrument cluster for...
