  1. Does Fiddling A Lot With Cruise Control Settings Interfere With Brake Coach Reports?!

I "trained" for 16..5 years on a 2007 Honda Accord Hybrid, so I usually get 99% to 100% brake coach scores on my Lightning. :) Last night I went for a 34.2-mile drive that included about a 50/50 mix of Interstate and street driving with quite a few stops. The trip took over an hour. During...
  2. Tonneau or not to Tonneau -- any efficiency improvements ?

@RickLightning. Hi, Rick. I think we're both right. In the following Bak YouTube video, a Bak spokesperson shows a cut-away of a hard panel. It appears to be an aluminum half-shell wrapping a hard plastic board. I'm not sure if he's holding the cutaway upside down. If not, the aluminum is...
  3. Tonneau or not to Tonneau -- any efficiency improvements ?

How many of you folks use netting or tie-downs to keep stuff under your tonneau cover from sliding around? One of the reasons I got my truck is I have a lot of "stuff" in the house to get rid of. The contents of our daughters' rooms (they either finally say what they want us to truck to them...
  4. âś… 1/30/2023 Lightning Build Week Group (MY2023)

That happened to me, too. https://www.f150lightningforum.com/forum/threads/?-2-13-2023-3-20-lightning-build-week-group-my2023.13655/post-313429 Ford must have some sort of software glitch or someone who's not hitting the right keys. The shipping and delivery of my vehicle still marched along...
  5. Tonneau or not to Tonneau -- any efficiency improvements ?

On the Ford site there are scant details on the construction of the hard folding REV cover. Rev is a private label company so they have no public facing website, AFAIK, on their products. If you know where to find the composition details other than from a hearsay source, I’d much appreciate...
  6. Tonneau or not to Tonneau -- any efficiency improvements ?

Thanks. I am interested in the security as well as weather protection. The Rev "hard" roll-up has frequently spaced aluminum crossbars; the Rev hard folding just appears to have a 3/4 inch thick plastic board in the folding sections. I would think someone with a portable power tool or a good...
  7. Rearranging Icons on the Digital Instrument Cluster Display - the Speed Limit Reader Is Off in a Corner!

I'm not very far into learning everything there is to know about my truck. But a simple thing I especially like is the Speed Limit Reader. I've read the posts that say the feature used automatically with Blue Cruise can be a PITA, and lots of folks turn off automatic speed adjustment by the...
  8. Tonneau or not to Tonneau -- any efficiency improvements ?

A slight twist on the topic. I was all set to get the Ford roll-up aluminum backed cover by Rev. The dealer rep I'm working with said that most people at his dealership (Red McCombs Ford) buy the folding version by Rev instead. I think he said it holds up better, and you don't have the...
  9. Lightning meets Alabama Hills, Lone Pine California - weekend road trip

And from Lone Pine, you can take the road to Whitney Portal. If you're in really good shape, it's just a "short" trip from there (much of it straight up!) to the top of Mt. Whitney, the highest point in the lower 48 states. The view from there is even better! A number of old Hollywood...
  10. âś… 2/13/2023 [3/20] Lightning Build Week Group (MY2023)

My truck at last (on 5/5/23)! Went for Oxford White to reflect back as much hot Texas sun as possible. It was worth the wait! Love it!
  11. Heated Steering Wheel deletion and retrofit clarity

My truck was delivered today with a factory-installed heated steering wheel. https://www.f150lightningforum.com/forum/threads/heated-steering-wheel-back-now.15382/post-315513
  12. Heated steering wheel- back now?

I picked up the truck today, and it has the heated steering wheel factory-installed. Hurray!
  13. Dealer Add-On Fees in Texas?

I might be overinterpreting the fine print on my sales contract. Here's what it actually says: In other words, my TX county doesn't require me to pay that fee, although the dealer wants me to help pay his tax bill to the county. I could try to haggle out of it or pay less, but I wanted to...
  14. Dealer Add-On Fees in Texas?

Here's the fee breakdown. I'm in Bexar County, TX. The fine print says that I don't have to pay the dealer inventory tax if I don't want to but the dealer rep I dealt with at Red McCombs Ford has been so helpful, I thought he and Red McCombs more than earned their fee as a "tip" for great service.
  15. Dealer Add-On Fees in Texas?

Would love to hear from other Texas buyers out there what their dealer charged in processing fees. Here's my bill for my Lightning Lariat ER with Tow Technology, Max Tow Package, Spray-in-Bed Liner, and Plastic Floor Tray and Mats. The "Other Fees" is what I'm wondering is typical for Texas...
  16. Heated steering wheel- back now?

The heating steering wheel being present or missing for me is a relatively minor issue for me both feature-wise (since I'm way down south in sunny south central Texas) and money-wise ($140 out of a ~$90K truck). I don't know how insurers figure out what's in a vehicle, i.e., how they can use...
  17. Heated steering wheel- back now?

My truck, ordered 11/17/22 and in production only 4/3/23 because of the battery fire, had the heated steering wheel removed in the online order with $140 off the price but the current window sticker is $140 more than it should be with no mention at all of the heated steering as an option or a...
  18. Early Access renewal - how many of you are going to re-up ?

I hope Ford has better luck with Beta SW than Microsoft does. I'm stuck in the Windows Insider Beta Release Preview channel for Windows 11, wishing I could get out - but can't until "the release of the next version of Windows." A lot of other Windows Insiders have suffered the same fate...
  19. Are rodents a threat to the Lightning?

I don't want to be the presumptuous person to do it. I suggest the OP @ FMC about the problem. It's too late for our Lightnings, but future Ford vehicles shouldn't have exposed wires that rodents love to gnaw. It seems like something Consumer Reports, Car and Driver, etc., should take note of...
  20. âś… 2/13/2023 [3/20] Lightning Build Week Group (MY2023)

A Vin View text message says my truck was dropped off (and unloaded) at a San Antonio rail depot today  , but Vin View still has an ETA at the dealer of Friday, 5/5, at 1:06 PM! The dealer is only 16 miles away from the depot by Interstate the whole way, so I hope the ETA at the dealer...
