I looked for different part numbers for the HV wiring harness for the the 2.4kW Pro Power and 9.6 kW Pro Power versions and wasn't able to find them, but I found the identification of the different wiring harness versions quite confusing, so I'm not questioning that there are different versions...
The 120/240V AC wiring harness between the inverter(s) and the bed receptacle are identical between the 2.4 and 9.6 kW PP setups. In trucks with the 2.4 KW Pro Power Onboard, the 240V part of the wiring harness is unconnected to the inverter or the receptacle panel. When you replace the part...
Yeah. I got one of the new ones today that looks like what Lectron has been selling. It's MUCH beefier and heavier than the Tesla-made adapter it's replacing.
"Ford still can’t figure out supply chain management"?
I gather you've never tried to get a Tesla repaired. I damaged the front bumper of a Tesla Model S and it spent about six months in the shop waIting for parts. My wife damaged the front bumper of our Lighting and I think the shop got all...
It's probably too late to be any help to you, but for others like me reading this thread much later, if your truck has the 9.6kW Pro Power On Board, which I believe comes standard on some higher trim models, you can get most of the home backup capability at a vastly lower price.
For any home...
You mean like this one in Georgia? He's selling 3 different inverter/converters for $499 each and a full battery pack for $9,999 (can't tell it it's ER or SR)...
If a charge port on the passenger side was inconvenient pulling forward into my garage, wouldn't it work well if I backed in? I've charged a few EVs with charge ports in different places in my garage, some pulled in forwards and some backed in. It's never been much of an issue.
Yeah, but if they moved the charge port to the right front, it would work well with Tesla's Superchargers. The way they're set up, the stalls work well for a vehicle with a charge port near the left rear corner that is backed into the stall or with a vehicle with a charge port near the right...
Maybe it's because their supplier is screwing Ford and Ford can't change suppliers because it's Tesla. That would be a good reason for Ford to try to push blame on a supplier, especially one that may be deliberately delaying production.
I'm almost positive Tesla designed them and owns the IP associated with them. My guess is that it also does the assembly, but I don't claim to be sure about that.
And why does it matter? Because, if Tesla is the source of the delay, it could be deliberate to avoid having too many new...
Well Tesla gets the parts and raw materials from somebody, so one of its supiers could be the problem. But, realistically, the most obvious explanation of the delay is that the famously poorly managed company that is not known for its ethical behavior is slowing things down through incompetence...
That's exactly why I said "unless you destroyed one tire and replaced it with something mismatched." My comment was also directed to the F-150 Lightning, which comes with a matching spare tire on a matching wheel. As far as I know, all F-150s do.
If you buy a car with a doughnut or no spare...
I agree with everything you said before the edit. With the wheels on, the truck should be completely undamaged if the jack didn't hit anything as it was tipping over, although from another post by the OP it looks like the jack did hit and dent something.
BUT. The tires should be rotated in the...
"you CANNOT do the tire rotation with one jack, unless you use the spare tire also."
True, but unless you destroyed one tire and replaced it with something mismatched, you really should be including the spare in your rotation, shouldn't you?
The first thing I'd check for is another dealer within 100 miles. Only if I didn't find one would I bother to check to make sure the tech was fired. Doing this once was dumb. Doing it second after dropping the truck was mind-blowingly stupid. That could have been very da gerous for him and...
Own a Tesla and can confirm. Actually, people are sometimes more sociable at the rare small Supercharger sites, but at the big ones, it's pretty much the Borg.
