Another tip: If you are going to use the magnets, insert them before you install anything. I tried adding them after all was said and done, and its hard getting into the tight spots with the shifter in the way and in the car, etc. Just do it before you start the install.

ok i think i figured this out, i used a step file that had the lid as a separate object and just deleted it and will print it separately. How are you guys cutting off the tabs on the shifter to have it just drop in? dremel?

I think Im missing something, I printed the version with the magsafe slot and the lid built in, but the lid isnt removable? So how would I get the shifter in there? I printed the version without the magsafe and there isnt a lid, so I can print that separately.

Found these 2 youtube videos on how to do the replacement. Anyone who has done it want to chime in on which video they think is better?

haha, thats my listing for a mirror I sold, it was plug and play with an adapter bought from bobs mirrors. I just wanted a blue compass instead of orange so I bought another mirror and another adapter.
