I like that list, while they're at it, I'd add replace the max defrost on the screen with Re-circulation, we've already got a dedicated max defrost button.
So to answer your question, yes it's dumb, no there's no way to do it on the 22 or 23 model years. They added the option on the 24 and said they'd add it to 22 and 23 with a OTA update, but it hasn't happened yet. Considering they released BC 1.4 a couple months ago and it still hasn't rolled...
There's a story/legend in the software engineering circles of an individual who got so sick and tired of a bug in a company's software, that he applied for a position at that company, got hired, basically spent his time tracking down and fixing said bug, and then once it was pushed out, quit.
I don't suppose you can change modes via the OBDII port? Automate switching to sport mode via a system talking to OBDII? Course, if that were to work, that could open a whole new can of worms having a system plugged into your truck that you have setup to tweak settings automatically, I could see...
Gotcha, sadly probably not at a point where I have time to help figure it out, but good to know it looks like it's possible we (royal we) just need to figure out the full process. Might be able to help with that in a few months if somebody else doesn't get it worked through before then. I did...
If using factory harnesses, what access is needed, is that still all under the bed, or does it require getting up under the cab as well? I'd seen mention about the need to tap into the cooling loop as well, how involved does that appear to be? Do we know what all the factory part numbers are for...
Aging Wheels just release a video on towing with an EV truck, seems the big take away is rolling resistance and wind resistance are you biggest factors to range hit, weight doesn't seem to matter. When I towed an 2002 CR-V ~400 miles (Portland to Boise) I was seeing about 1.2m/kWh, that was with...
This post on the Lighting subreddit has a few suggestions looks like some folks have had luck with getting conduit under the sidewalk and putting a post up with the charger next to a parking spot. If you have a carport I'd think if you can get approval having an electrician run power...
For all the other beeps the truck makes, it would have been nice to have the lock notification be a beep as well instead of a honk. Seems like most the other manufactures have figured that out on lock notification, not sure why Ford hasn't figured that one out yet.
Glad to see they're still doing development on it, really wish they'd get 1.4 rolled out to everybody, leaving on a road trip tomorrow and the update would have been really nice. :(
So.... let me get this straight, you're using AC to DC power supplies plugged into your truck to get the DC voltage to feed into your DC to AC grid-tied inverter, and back-feeding that into a regular outlet on your house? Glad that's working for you, seems like it might make more sense to figure...
Is there a post somewhere about this, or a technical alert from Ford? First time I've heard of the issue before, doesn't rule out it being widely known but a quick search was only returning this post on the issue for me.
What I'd love to see is that status information show locked/unlocked instead of "parked". Yeah I know it's parked, what I care about is, is it it locked, especially given the half dozen walk-away-lock failures its had in the last 2 months.
Does PG allow you to back-feed the grid with a bi-directional meter so you can take advantage of a utilities surge demand payment with the battery? (ie PGE has a program were they'll pay you to supply power back to the grid during high demand times)
Thanks for the write up on this, I've been looking at the PG system with V2X capability on it. Did you purchase direct from them or go through a reseller? I've been trying to locate an installer here local that's familiar with them, but haven't done any hard looking yet.
Are you sure about that? Shift to park should still work with the rotary shifter, it's even easier since it's doesn't have to move the sift lever, and others have reported that it does indeed still work after the conversion. If you've done the conversion and it's no longer doing the auto shift...
Nice! That's exactly the direction I was wanting to go with it, moving it to the front of the cubby, just haven't found time to sit down with CAD and do it.
