Do you have Plug and Charge turned on. I have had problems before trying to charge with plug and charge turned on. I have also been able to get chargers to work by turning plug and charge off in both the FordPass app and the service providerâs app.
I was just able to extend my Bluecruise from 2/17/26 to 2/17/27. Thanks everyone on this thread for keeping up with the information. I use Bluecruise everyday but I was going to let it expire next year to help pay for new tires.
I DO NOT endorse bypassing the dead man feature this way. I can see too ways to get into trouble if the driver does not have to be actively engaged with the vehicle. Even with all the safety features engaged there is risk, to intentionally bypassing safety features is just dumb.
I have been thinking about whatâs the difference between the Ford Bluecruise and Ford Lane Centering and I have come to the conclusion that Ford Lane Centering (on cars with Bluecruise) a layer of security above Bluecruise. The Bluecruise cameras continue to watch you when youâre only in Lane...
I used the process on some city streets today. Again I was amazed at what a difference it made. My Lightning was really driving itself down city streets.
Just remember if you try this you need good lines on the roads.
I have the exact opposite opinion. I feel that Ford always intended Lane Centering to be mostly hands free but felt the instructions would be too complicated for many people to easily understand. I think the Ford guys now would be like, âOh, they finally get itâ.
I agree that âgrabâ is probably not the right word to use. I have my hands close wheel and reach and turn the wheel with just enough force to deactivate the HOW warning when it comes on. The action takes less than a second.
I have driven about 100k miles using lane centering/Blue Cruise. I have always been annoyed having to keep my hands on the steering wheel using lane centering but on my last trip to Colorado there was a huge change, I found the Lightning dead man switch! No, I didnât find a hidden switch but I...
On my latest trip to Colorado my Lightning consistently charged at or above 180 kW. I was pleasantly surprised at first until the charge level dropped to about 30 kW at 80%. I was hitting some strong headwinds plus I was fighting an elevation rise so I really needed that extra juice.
In the...
Remember the ââtheyâ you mentioned covers a very large group from people that voted for Trump to the oil companies that see EVs as a threat, to Tesla fan boys that just hate non-Tesla EVs. The reasons are simple; change is scary but hate and being socially irresponsible is fun unless youâre on...
For a long time I have been curious about driving my Lightning in Mexico but the lack of fast chargers compatible with the Lightning made traveling in Mexico look impractical. When I got my CCS to NACS adapter I thought now I could charge at the Superchargers
Mexico but Tesla has been slow to...
You are really going to need those lower taxes to help pay for higher commodity prices caused by tariffs and government mismanagement. Thatâs assuming you can even pay taxes and havenât been hit with a Reduction In Force just because the White House EV hater doesnât like you.
The hilarity is actually that people think an EV hater in the White House and a turn coat EV billionaire is a good thing for EV adoption and EV charging infrastructure development. We are all going to pay the price of this disaster.
NEVI was just getting started. All those blank spaces you see on the charging maps, NEVI would have filled those in. Now it looks like we are all dependent on Muskâs altruism.
An Insideevs article highlights the struggle to keep NEVI alive. If NEVI survives it will probably have to emerge out of a court battle first. And whateverâs left of NEVI could be delayed a year or more.
The Executive Order on the 21st January halted funding under the 2021 Infrastructure Act and specifically targets NEVI funding. I was really looking forward to the sea change in charging infrastructure that NEVI was going to provide, now it looks like we are going to have to wait until the next...
I got my Lightning back. The service report says that they updated a bunch of modules related to BC but I canât tell any difference. The report does say that they checked the engine oil level, the engine coolant level and the automatic transmission fluid level so at least I got that done.
