That's what happens when your 100+ year old house with the original 20 amp service of screw in fuses gets upgraded. There's no way to run new wire through brick and plaster walls.
Think of electrical cables like water hoses.... If you kink, smash, crush, or tightly bend a hose, you cause more friction and the flow of water can become reduced.
Similar with electrical cables, especially when you are moving 48 or 80 amps worth. The difference with the electricity however is...
I can't think of anything behind the dash that would use a clip like that. At least I've never seen anything like that when I've been working underneath to add the ACC harness.
I vote that your shoe picked it up at Menards.
They say it doesn't fit because your trim level/VIN doesn't have this option. You are adding something to the truck that is not supposed to be there.
Please read or at least skim the entire thread. I promise that almost all of your questions have been answered and will give you a much idea of...
For your APIM change where it says "0 to 8" and you have a "1", check out the ForScan spreadsheet to see what your "1" currently controls, and what it needs to be changed to activate the adaptive cruise or lane centering properly.
ForScan spreadsheet
But when it's off, it stays off. That's the issue.
When I want cold air again, I push the AC button and I get cold air again.
I don't want cold air everytime I start the car or truck.
I think detailed instructions are in the teens-twenties page wise of this thread. You should read the entire thing through from page 1 at least once. Most or all of your questions have been answered already. I even think there is a section that provides details on what size and thread pitch...
Lots of possible reasons for your charging speed:
-You were already at 60%. Speed slows at higher SOC.
-Temperature of battery
-Temp of cable/charge port/coupling.
-General EA inconsistencies and maintenance.
-Some other reason....
Basically it's not that uncommon. You can try a different...
Mostly no preconditioning for me during summer months. It defaults to AC with or without it however. When I use preconditioning during the cooler months there is sometimes AC on but with warm air to dehumidify/defog/defrost the cabin.
There have been many threads with the same complaint. The consensus seems to be to make turning the AC switch off as part of your startup routine. I hope someone eventually finds a better workaround, my seaching through Forscan and the Forscan spreadsheet have come up empty.
I 100% agree with...
I use Android Auto to see Carscanner on the 12" screen. It only shows text, no gauges or pictures. I heard that is due to Android Auto safety requirements.
The two screens I look at most, which is not very often any more now that I am comfortable with the operation of the truck are below (using...
There are lots of things you CAN do.
Jump out of a plane with no parachute.
Start a campfire with gasoline.
Drink rubbing alcohol.
Run across a busy freeway.
SHOULD you do do any of these?
I just looked up your part number for a picture of your switch. You can 100% use this switch. The PO probably installed ACC for you too!
You can fix your error with forscan by enabling your current switch. It will probably be a lot easier and less costly then installing the original switch.
If...
Take a picture of the front of your current switch. You may be able to use it.
I won't be able to look for my old switch until later today which might have the part number on it.
Post a picture of the FRONT of the switch.
I also doubt you need a new steering wheel. Dealer is clueless on this case because it sounds like the previous owner modded the truck.
I agree with @BennyTheBeaver , this sounds like someone added Adaptive Cruise and Lane Keeping to your Pro and...
There is a thread that recently was started on the ICE F150 forum that is the exact counter to this thread. It's worth a look for the perspective difference 😉
