  1. DIY: Installing ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) and LKA (Lane Keep Alert) to 2022 F-150 Lightning XLT

Hi any helpful forum go'ers: Can someone view my C265? connector and help me identify if I have the correct wires already? I believe I have them, but I am a bit colorblind, and going mainly on location. Image taken with connector still seated.
  2. DIY: Installing ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) and LKA (Lane Keep Alert) to 2022 F-150 Lightning XLT

Thanks for all the info. everyone. I ordered a basic trim tool set, will verify I have the wires needed for my 22 XLT; if so, I'll buy parts and be another test subject. ACC is the only feature I wanted to make the car "complete". Taking it in for maintenance check before though; I've had air...
  3. Power Up-4.1.1 OTA software update released

I remember Jim Farly doing Press for the Lightning before Launch and mentioned how the Truck would keep getting better every month with OTA updates. 4 months of Ownership... Crickets... If anything, they made the truck slightly worse by lessening the regen strength in what I think was the...
  4. Slow charging on AC

It was near 90%. My local utility company is down the street from me with free 6kw level2 charging , so early morning I will take some juice from them. But it wasn't going to finish in time, so I bought it home to get my full 11kw speed.
  5. Slow charging on AC

Not your same situation, but Same charger and today was the first day I decided to charge to 100%. But, i noticed it kept decreasing in speed as it got higher into the 90s. Never seen this before, I've charged my Ioniq 5 to 100% probably like 10 times since I've owned it and it never slowed...
  6. Blue Oval Badge Parts Shortage Now Affecting F-Series Trucks

My tailgate was just repainted... I reported a dust nib on it and thought there was a more straightforward process... Took almost two weeks..... Took it back without them doing the other scheduled fixes, will reschedule those later. Two things missing with the truck due to parts shortage...
  7. CA HOV Decals and CVRP Timeline

My cvrp was approved. Took roughly a month. A bit faster than my Ioniq 5 from earlier this year
  8. Dealer Allocations starting to get Delivered?

Noticed dealer stock orders appearing at my dealership in July for standard lariats (just the sticker). No matter the process that lead to the dealer stock, it's really poor move on ford. There are countless people waiting in line properly for a chance to order and ford just gifts dealer...
  9. Idle battery energy losses

My trucks been basically sitting for the past 7 days at the body shop because of a little dust nib I reported at delivery (taking fucking forever). Body shop ended up repainting the entire tailgate..... I've only seen a percentage get knocked off. The truck has basically no drain for me.
  10. Edmunds EV Range Test: 2022 F-150 Lightning Takes Down Rivian R1T

Devil always in details. I like Edmunds range test, but they need to improve their understanding of EVs as their numbers are misleading without caveats.. Their first rivian test had some flaw, they got better range on rivians 20 inch AT tires than the 21 inch AS tires. Rivian notes a 40 mile...
  11. Electrical demand with more EVs on the road. Is there enough power supply for future growth?

Where I live the grid is managed very well :) SMUD > https://www.smud.org/ Community owned, and their headquarters are down the street from me and they have free EV charging powered by Solar I siphon off of sometimes :) It's not part of CAISO, which manages most of the state. It's under...
  12. Electrical demand with more EVs on the road. Is there enough power supply for future growth?

Lived in CA my whole life, 38 years. Never had a power outage not caused by weather taking down a poll and even then it was maybe just 2 hours. My internet goes out more than my power by a factor of like 100.
  13. Child Car Seat Protection

That one made the indents like 3 times worse because of the X. Took it out of my car and put it in my MILs older car that already looks like shit :)
  14. Child Car Seat Protection

I've always used car seat protectors, currently have 4 year old. They don't need much padding to do their job and at least one I used had too hard of a bottom that actually made it worse. Just get something that can distribute the pressure points. This is the one I use: Lusso Gear Car Seat...
  15. Lightning Platinum vs R1T Range test by Alex's EV Buyers Guide

This was in reference to the Rivian 22s which are more efficient than their AT which are more common for range tests. Rivian's tires from least to most efficient: 20" AT - 40 mile loss (314 > 274) 22" Sport - 21 mile loss (314 > 294) 21" Road - EPA @ 314
  16. Lightning Platinum vs R1T Range test by Alex's EV Buyers Guide

You trust the test because you may be biased for Lightning :) You need to look @ the conditions of each test. Tom explicitly notes in his R1T range test it was a "windy day in New Jersey." Lightning test was " warm day in July in very good conditions" R1T was also on AT tires. Rivian notes a...
  17. Lightning Platinum vs R1T Range test by Alex's EV Buyers Guide

Most commentary I see on rivian suggests a lot better highway range. This is totally expected. It's a smaller truck. Ymmv based on configs of both trucks. Here's a recent rivian range test: He got 340 miles out of a single change going 70mph. He ended up doing two tests, because it was doing...
  18. Brake Lights with 1-Pedal

I think a lot has changed since the focus EV... I doubt a EV exists that does not use brake lights on strong regen settings like 1 pedal.
  19. Next Sync Update?

For how much ford talked about OTA updates improving the truck each month, it's been crickets. While newbie rivian is pushing out key updates each month.
