Wow! I have two of those Emporia chargers, opened one to hardwire, the only thing I could think of that could cause that cover to crack would be a transformer but even then the gap from cover to the board where everything is mounted seemed at least 1" away
Ford CEO Farley Comments On Newly Released Guidance On Inflation Reduction Act Implementation; Says Will Help Customers Determine Whether They're Eligible To Receive Incentives, Plan To Share More Information Soon
BENZINGA 3:41 AM ET 3/31/2023
Looks like in a few days, hope Ford and dealers are really pushing:
"U.S. Official Says U.S. Treasury Battery Guidance To Be Released This Week To Result In Fewer Vehicles Eligible For Full Or Partial EV Tax Credits" - Benzinga 3/29/2023
What was really surprising to me was how much more efficient it is than the i3 with all of its carbon fiber and aluminum.
It's 65 up hill then 70 down the back side of the hill average total of 158 Wh/mi, I do get it down to 5.6 mi/kWh if I hit the on ramp hard and stay in the left lane.
I always add mud flaps on all my EVs and have never noticed any change in actual range / efficiency.
The Lightning is a massive EV so 1.7 - 2 mi/kWh seems acceptable.
For reference my BMW i3 average is 4.6 mi/kWh and Model 3 is 6.3 mi/kWh both using same speed and same 18 mile route, most of...
My thoughts exactly!
It could also be they didn't know about the issue till it did catch on fire, either way there is NO way they can say it couldn't happen to ones that were already produced prior to the fire if they were all produced the same way.
Just popped up on my feed

So Ford is pulling back some of the Lightnings from delivery but not all?
Someone mentioned they just got theirs from dealer while someone else said theirs went from rail to dealer then delivery date moved to March?
Ford really needs to update owners, after the whole LG Bolt issue any mention...
Data from 1985 - 2016 looks impressive.
Farley admitted Ford has to work on quality, if the CEO admits they have problems publicly...they have problems.
I for one don't feel like Ford has been making quality products for many years, and judging by the claim of 75% lightning owners that have...
Ford's questionable quality aside, the lightning is still an awesome truck.
I hope for the safety of everyone it's something with just those recently produced batteries in the new trucks in that holding lot.
I am guessing everyone feels the battery module email/phone call that some are...
lol the wording
" By streamlining production costs, we can significantly lower prices across the entire lineup. "
Translate, "We had to because someone else did so we used the same "reason"
L1 charging a EV is quite a continuous load at the house outlet, if you are using L1 I would at a minimum replace the outlet with a high quality one and monitor the wall plate temp
Not sure if it was mentioned but all 3 Ford dealers on the island of Oahu in Hawaii charge ADM.
Honolulu Ford quoted $5995 ADM
Not sure on the others but all have told me they will be doing a ADM
Edit:
Hahah just noticed the above post!
The only mass produced EV I know of that is as green or greener than an ICE from 0 miles is the BMW i3.
I don't think any other manufacture ever went as far as BMW did to be green and ethically responsible for 1 model.
I agree I hate Teslas like I hate iPhones and people who don't know how to work on their own car.
Tesla's all look alike it's the new Prius.
BUT no matter how much we hate Tesla's, no one comes close to Tesla on mechanical design, efficiency and bringing new features to customers.
If you...
I think for now you have to accept that any non Tesla EV you buy will have this issue of the company not caring about adding value to a product that has already been paid for; it's a way of thinking that almost every company has.
Ford and others say they want to compete against Tesla, and all...
Also have the Emporia, mine is on 50A breaker but only charging at 20A.
The Emporia app is awesome, easy to switch charging rates, no need to disconnect when adjusting rate, can adjust at 1A increments, real time down to the second, current usage. Easy to set charging start stop times.
I...
