  1. PAAK not unlocking doors about 50% of the time?

Like I have said before, it works 100% with the fob even using heavy gloves in winter. Couldn't be any drier. I think the communication issue is between the phone and the truck, not your hand and the truck. Unless the PAAK trucks use completely different door handle technology from the XLT.
  2. Software issue on centre screen

Just like we can reboot Sync while driving whenever the phone refuses to reconnect. lol
  3. Ford Lightning one pedal drive

Because if the friction brakes are not used, there is nowhere else for the energy to go but into the battery. If you measure battery power in/out, that does show that some amount of regen is happening, but due to blended braking there could also be some energy wasted as heat if the friction...
  4. Ford Lightning one pedal drive

Better than regen to the battery, I have used my OBD reader to show the hydraulic pressure in the brake system during a typical 2PD stop that showed 100% energy returned. The brake pressure is zero. No friction brakes used (except at the end to hold the stop). I've posted the graph from...
  5. PAAK not unlocking doors about 50% of the time?

That seems odd. My door handle touch sensors work even with heavy winter gloves and it works 100%. (Always fob in pocket... no PAAK on my XLT). With locking, you do have to wait a short time, maybe 1 second, after closing the door. I lock with the back of my fingers against the handle. Given...
  6. If someone breaks into the Lightning and does not have a recognized key, does the interior frunk button work?

XLT. So no PAAK. I verified the door lock/unlock touch sensors didn't work so I believe the fob was far enough away. There is always a tradeoff between convenience and security. You could maybe have an option to require a key fob to be present, toggle in settings, but then you'd also need a key...
  7. If someone breaks into the Lightning and does not have a recognized key, does the interior frunk button work?

Not sure if anyone answered the question yet, but on my 23 XLT yes the inside frunk button works with the door locked (window open) and no fob nearby.
  8. Portable Charger

You may have to be more specific than "the portable charger". There is more than one model. But I would suspect a flaky (maybe overheating) EVSE especially if you're talking about a Ford mobile charger.
  9. Has anyone figured this out?

If it were possible, Ford would have done it. There would be an "Eco" drive mode and they'd be shouting from the rooftops about the increased range. Same argument from decades past, with all the snake oil miracle gadgets to improve your gas mileage. If it were that easy, the factory would have...
  10. Highway Range

With the head wind, the aerodynamic drag is equivalent to driving 75 MPH. But it's worse than actually driving 75 MPH with no head wind for efficiency, because you're only covering 65 miles in an hour while still using significantly more energy.
  11. Highway Range

A head wind will destroy your efficiency. You should plan to charge somewhere. Slower charging is probably better, but as time goes on it's looking like it's really not much of a factor. The battery management system does its thing and minimizes the degradation. If there's a choice, minimize...
  12. Temporarily lost power to front motors

Give the user technical information?? That's crazy talk. ? For the bong bong, check under settings/navigation and make sure Suggested Destinations is turned off. Or if it only happens if your seat belt isn't buckled, that needs a tweak in Forscan.
  13. Suggestion: One-Time Departure Pre-Conditioning

One time departure time is a no brainer feature. It's really dumb for Ford to assume everyone is on a regular schedule at all times. And even those who are on a regular schedule for their daily drives (where the vast majority do not need battery preconditioning at all... cabin yes, battery...
  14. FordPass 5.16.0 iOS & Android released.

I think the "start" button in the app disables all schedules and limits and charges to 100%. Then when you change the charge limit (which seems to be a permanent change for that location?) it re-enables the schedule, so if you had a later charging window start, it would stop the ongoing charge...
  15. Charging rate at 50KW ?

The limiting factor there is the 120 amps. The Lightning has a relatively low pack voltage. So for my ER battery, at a low-ish state of charge (say 345 volts) you'd only be drawing 345 x 120 = 41.4 kW. As the state of charge increases it'll go to mid-high 40s but you will never see 50 kW. Keep...
  16. FRUNK module dead (FHCM) - Grey - Not Responding in FDRS

Maybe off topic but when you say you can close it manually... do you have to do something special to get it to latch? My FHCM acted up once recently. It would not latch even when closed manually as hard as I felt comfortable with. I even disconnected the 12V and that didn't solve it (!) so I...
  17. Tesla destination chargers level 2?

A few Tesla destination chargers are 80 amp (19.2 kW) but you're right that slower is more common. Of course that's not really relevant for the OP since 24s are limited to 48 amps (11.5 kW). You'd have to check Plugshare comments to see if non Tesla vehicles have been able to charge at the...
  18. Sault Ste Marie to Montreal, can I make it in an ER?

I think all the Tesla locations in that part of Ontario are V2 so not available to CCS vehicles. There are some other charging options in Sudbury if you lower your filter requirements a bit. I charged at the Southside GM dealer no problem when I went through last year. There is a Petro Can there...
  19. Key Fob - replacement

Apparently, from what I've read, the truck can only have four fobs in total at a time. So if you make two spares, you couldn't add another OEM one later without a trip to the dealer. Seems like a dumb artificial limitation to me but that's what I heard. FWIW
  20. Key Fob - replacement

I don't know if there is a consensus. I bought an Aliexpress one for my "third". It exists so I could reprogram a replacement myself if I lose an OEM one. It doesn't have the frunk button; it has a remote start button instead, but otherwise seemed to work fine. $140 CAD for OEM doesn't sound...
