My current ride is a Mach-E, and although the 15ā screen looks super high-tech, I decided to get an XLT so I can have physical buttons and cloth seats.
Iām a software developer, so I completely agree that a lot of the problems can eventually be worked out by re-arranging the software, but Iām...
Awesome idea and I just placed an order for the cover and the magnets.
I'm sticking with the idea of the rare earth magnets because it would be stronger but you can potentially also just use an adhesive square metal plate designed to hold a cell phone in a magnetic holder because the cover...
I'm glad to hear there was at least some sort of sensor tripped, but I firmly believe there is still no reason for an electronically triggered frunk to be allowed to be fully opened while in motion. Even if one intention for the button is for the unlikely event that a person is forced into the...
Even if that were true, thereās still no reason it should open when driving. This is a state of the art vehicle with sensors and computer monitoring everywhere.
If a door is slightly ajar, we get warnings. If a somebody unlatches their seatbelts, we get warnings. So if the frunk is not...
I can understand the need to throw the first stage and allow for ventilation in case somebody is stuck in there by mistake, but completely opening while driving Is just plain bad under all circumstances.
Thatās what I was thinking⦠Even if they add a cover, thereās no reason for that button to be enabled while the truck is in motion.
There are already a bunch of options that turn off when the truck is moving, so disabling that button should be super easy to do (unless the button is hard wired...
This picture says 1000 words and I'm assuming there will be some sort of recall to put a cover there... just like the power jacks. Other than that it would need to be something twisted or pulled, not pushed.
The funny thing is they literally tried to reinvent something that has been around for REAR trunks for decades. The solution there was something that can be PULLED, not pushed.
There are a ton on things that can accidentally PUSH that button like luggage and the standard test for trunk size...
The wait is driving all of us nuts.
I used to worry that I'd get it so late into 22 that I'd be better off getting a 23. I no longer worry about that. :)
You can get a clean set from the parts department. I did that in 2002 for my T-Bird logo.
That was before the Interwebs made it easy to find parts.

For what it's worth, there's an Ikea 15 minutes from my house. I stop there for lunch quite a bit because I love the Swedish Meatballs. :)
That said, it's too close to where I live to be worth using as a fast charge.
What we all NEED are fast chargers in every major rest area along highways...
I was surprised there wan't a remote start on my Mach-E either. I'm not fond of using an App to do things like opening doors or starting the car. Thankfully, the Apple Watch App is super easy to use, so I use the Watch App most of the time.
That said, I still cary my FOB because the PAAK...
Thanks!
I did that yesterday and again today and it gives me a HUGE list of codes. Over 970 lines.
On 8/8 the .AB file was only 544 bytes.
Today, it's over 8600 bytes.
I guess it's ALIVE!
(Still no progress on the Ford order page.)
