Good points. I do have to say that I am reviewing past statements Ford has made on supply constraints, and their statements and production practices do not match. Not a good place to be for a publicly traded company. A stock drop of a few dollars that can be associated with news of chip delays...
I hope you get delivered before me. That is the way it should be.
I started off believing there was some method, but I am increasing believing the entire process is literally what ever is closest to the exit gets a chip and delivery.
For those on chip hold, don’t waste your time contacting Ford Customer service. You will get a canned response about supply constraints. When I asked the representative to explain why trucks with VINs above mine have been shipped and delivered the representative read the canned response again...
Nothing. For a while I was blaming the spray liner because the only record in the visabilty report was the vehicle was sent to the body shop.
The chip hold notation is new as of yesterday.
My truck shows in production 5/16. Modules went live 5/18. My truck is now in Chip Hold.
This was not listed in vehicle visibility until today.
Previously report said holding for launch.
Thanks for the kind words.
I am Securities attorney and thought that some of Ford statements on the chip issue were a little too cute. Then from the group I could see Ford appeared to be shipping vehicles with different blend weeks. This is how you avoid a section 10b5 claim for...
Right, that was why I asked about a trend. It seemed that the only 5/9 blend week VINs not delivered were above 4300 or so.
Ford customer service called me and told me my truck was built and liner was done but the truck is awaiting “sign off”. I was wondering if this was Ford’s way of...
Are you able to glean any patterns? Seems like there is something going on with Vins over 4300 that are built but have no scheduled delivery. This is a small data set so any real trends would have to be supported across blend weeks.
Well it is not just the dealer saying this. I have spoke to three Ford customer service representatives.
My truck has been at the body shop since 5/16. Getting a spray liner is why it is at the body shop. So it’s logical to say the spray liner is a reason the truck is not completed.
I have...
Wow. Ok my truck is lost. Makes no sense that two trucks with same production date would be so far apart in the process.
This is similar to what Bronco buyers were reporting.
Thanks. I am not sure I have seen anyone with a blend 5/13 or later with a spray liner that has reported shipment. I might be wrong but it seems like 5/16 (the production date of 5/13 blend) and later with a spray liner could be held up.
Report from dealer and Ford both show truck blend date was 5/16 and released to body shop. There has been no update since. My report also has the notation that it is being held for launch date.
So I have not checked this completely, but it seems that the Platinum’s with BL are not getting held up.
I have a 5/13 blend lariat with every additional option and BL and it is in BL purgatory.
