If you have not set up a Fordpass Blue Oval Acct and/or it is not working correctly and you plug in before the station is started it will probably fail to communicate/start. It could also possibly brick the charger.
The limited research I've done points to batteries being the weakest link. I'm pretty sure you'll see battery issues before you see motor issues(minus a manufacturing defect or severe abuse).
Given those circumstances, I think its a pretty good deal. Personally I'd take it at that price given nearly perfect(like new) condition.
A lot can change by the end of the year. Also don't expect any big changes for MY24. With t3 coming soon, Ford isn't going to invest a lot of $$ in Lightning...
Yes.. I've dealt with this before....

It shouldn't be this hard, esp for new EV owners..but here we are. Also, EA tech support is worthless.. they will insist time after time you plug in first which is not...
Just to confirm, did you start the station via EA app BEFORE you plugged it into the truck?
(Yes I know that is not what it says on the EA station...ask me how I know)
If not you need to make sure you start the EA charger(via EA app)before you plug into the station. If you plug in first, the...
In my case the truck went into deep sleep(repeatedly) for me with no action needed on my part.
IDK, If it were me I'd probably keep it like this. The repeated deep sleep was one of the things that helped me figure out my 12v battery was failing. Without that indicator you might not know until...
It was always clumsy for me...never worked on first try. Usually after 2, 3, or 4 times refreshing it would update.(Easier to update if charging).
Lately it would go down for hours/days at a time and wouldn't update even when plugged in.
This makes PERFECT sense with my situation.
I had zero related battery issues in the first 6 months of ownership. I was working a job 18mi away that required a 35min commute on both neighborhood streets and highway each way(hello suburbia).
About 3 months ago I took a job much closer to home...
So am I correct to assume pre conditioning and charging setting *should* function just fine independent of the app functionality?
(In my case I just had two problems that happened to occur at the same time)
If that's the case, then my biggest concern is being able to monitor level 2 charging...
This kind of confirms what I'm seeing post service. There was definitely a battery problem which has now been solved.. however Fordpass is still hit or miss. Last night it worked a few times but then refused to work after say 9pm.
Worked again for a brief period this morning and updated...
Fordpass is still not working correctly after new battery is installed.
It will work and update when vehicle is on. It fails to update when vehicle is off. I will see if the vehicle pre conditions tomorrow as scheduled.
Dropped my truck off at the dealer and just got the call...they are replacing the nearly dead 12v battery. (LVB).
Symptoms started about 2-3months ago and steadily got worse.
1. Truck would disappear off Fordpass and would not update. Could not do any remote functions or check charging status...
My thoughts exactly. Ford made it really easy to figure out-- plug it in and leave it to 80%.
No Kyle style charger hopping needed to get maximum speed...
The problem with this scenario is that it is highly unlikely the DCFC will be available and working at exactly the right interval. for 15min stops. The more times you have to stop and the more times you're plugging in, starting the unit, etc. the more risk something will go wrong(I'm looking at...
I was going to start a new thread..but....here we are...
Since I took delivery of the truck last November I've had intermittent but persistent issues with the Fordpass connectivity, pre condition functionality, and approach/unlock functions.
The truck would be fine and then go "dark" and not...
Took Delivery Oct 28, 2022 -- 4500mi so far..all commuting miles except one 350mi trip to NJ and back.
I have DCFC only 2x since delivery. All charging done at home via chargepoint flex(48A) or around town at Level 2 stations(6.6Kw mostly)
