Anything is possible with enough time and money. It would probably be very challenging though. You would likely be better off buying a honda 2kw portable over adding pro power to a non pro power truck.
I got the 2kw pro power with the 5.0. It’s just a capability I wanted for occasional use...
In all seriousness it does look like the bolts ford uses. However, it also looks pretty worn. Not only the chips in the coating and spots of rust but the bolt edges look rounded as if it were removed and re-installed a few times or by someone with not quite the right size socket.
I might...
When I recently rented a new Mustang the carplay implementation was really nice. I found that I could pull up a destination on my phone while walking to the car and then as soon as I got in and started it up it would immediately begin navigation to that destination. Made it so I never wanted...
I don’t know, it seems like they are already popping up all over the place without extra help. I feel like a big free money dump is just going to line the pockets of quick popup build and dump businesses who aren’t actually seriously invested in seeing the technology succeed.
I got a removable bed cover so should be ok to wait. Hopefully it’s not as long as September, but assuming they have the same injection molded plastics supply issues as ford wouldn’t be terribly surprised.
Not yet but when I ordered they said they wouldn’t be shipping the pro-power version until mid-August so I was more of a pre-order. With them quoting you three weeks it sounds like they are still on schedule.
Truck should be here late this week or early next so the timing might be just about...
Thank you!
I think I had read that before but couldn’t really understand what would stop and what wouldn’t. Interesting that the connected nav completely stops. I guess in the case of connected nav it’s always downloading maps at the time of routing so that’s kinda cool I guess…. I would...
What do the connected services consist of?
Presuming current traffic conditions on route. The nav is on board so nav will work without it… would they restrict updates to subscribers? what else?
I thought the warning system operated off the radar sensors? But yeah I guess non copilot trucks would need a way as well… maybe the radar is only used for bliss operations.
Good point, same would apply to iOS as far as Do Not Disturb stopping the alerts from making a noise and/or turning on your screen. Although while iOS has the option to override per contact, I don’t see it per app.
Thats what I gathered. He was able to use the trucks alert system to confirm his suspicion that they were not actually working on it and when he called them out on it he could see that they suddenly jumped to it.
There could easily be plastic brackets and other fasteners not visible from the outside that are broken. For example somone had hit my escape in a parking lot, didn’t leave a note and I never noticed until I went to do an oil change as externally everything looked fine.
I would have a trusted...
wouldn’t something like a sticky caliper impact gas mileage? Just wondering if that could be a potential symptom pointing to that…. Assuming they are actually worn and they didn’t “accidentally record the truck in the next bay on your chart”
I think that is probably a better solution.
It would be nice if they wouldn’t lock us into one carrier, but I get that’s probably the terms of the deal that allows them to offer some of the free stuff to us. Wonder if someone down the road will figure out an unlock.
it would be a cool feature to enable and I don’t think it would be any excessive drain on the battery considering a portable hot spot lasts all day on a tiny battery. Maybe shutoff after 12 hours to be safe?
There is one concern I would have with an active hotspot: hackers. I could see...
I was initially going line-x but the stores here have terrifying reviews (con artist owners, thief employees and over-sprayed trucks are the common themes).
Decided to go with Dual Liner since it has a nice fit, is non-permanent and if I don’t like it and end up going spray-in down the road I...
Just ordered today. When I called they said they are expecting them to start shipping in August…. Which is also around my current eta.
I was going to do a spray in liner but the line-x stores in my area have some scary reviews, plus this is cheaper, non-permanent and has a cushioned mat so...
I guess it would be nice to not have one…. But I am literally terrible at keeping my phone charged all day long so I would be terrified to not have a fob on me.
To me the feature would be fine as an emergency stop-gap if I lost my keys and was already late for work, not for everyday use.
