It's not a UPS so double conversion does not apply really, but in performance mode, the inverters are always active ready to take the load. There is an energy saving mode where the inverters go to sleep when not providing a load. I think it says they take about 50ms to wake up, which could...
I can't tell you exactly. The base (bare minimum) system would be around $8k-$9k for the components I believe. This is about the same price as the Ford system if you also included a Charge Station pro and LG battery. There are a lot of homes that would be a 1 day install for this system...
To my knowledge with the way it works it shouldn’t matter if you have a Pro or Platinum. If serious I am sure Sigenergy could find a location for you to test first.
It is of course possible, and I am not aware of Sigenergy doing any work directly with Ford.
That being said, I don't think Ford is going to spend much money on the Lightning any more especially for a niche case like this. With the OTA history, I am really not worried about it either. We all...
Good question. There is nothing that needs to be enabled or set in the lightning. The truck just thinks it is connected to a DC charger.
This system will work with all model years and trim level of the Lightning, and doesn't require any sort of option package.
The batteries have a large heat sink on the side of them. The inverter definitely has a fan inside which will spin up under high load. My system is in Houston, but is in the garage. I haven't had any sort of issue in the last year. It is also the #1 system in Australia, so it seems to be...
I remember watching the live reveal for the F150 lightning back in 2021 and thinking that is a cool truck. Maybe someday. Then the moment came where they showed the truck powering your house, and I was sold.
The Ford system that was released worked for me, but did not have the response or...
I am going to write up a completely new thread with all the info included here and a lot more on the V2X. Some of the write up and comments are now outdated in this one.
The white box on the wall is their load hub which is their 200A automatic transfer switch. The inverters can work on-grid only without it, but the load hub is required for off grid operation.
It is service entrance rated, so it can go between your meter and main panel for whole home backup...
I tried and tried to make the 2 systems work togther. The HIS usually tripped out after the truck started to push power. One time the 2 inverters would fight each other switching between charging/discharging every 1-2 seconds.
I then tried to use the HIS through the Signergy generator input...
The grid input (for DC charging) is capped at 11.4kW no matter how many inverters you have. That 25kW in the stack limit still will exist too.
The main reason I have 2 inverters is for more grid export.
The 2 systems are synchronized though. It will charge and discharge the stacks at...
Once they were installed, the system picked up the extra equipment automatically. They sort of work as one unit.
I have a little issue with self consumption mode right now, but I will see if charging everything overnight fixes that.
I haven't tried V2X yet, but was able to charge the truck for...
You probably don't want to know that I bought the replacement on Ford parts for $30 before their supply ran short and they jacked the price. I am glad it will be a simple fix though, and that is the reason for your issue.
Here is the post about it where you can find the model numbers of the bad and good replacement parts. Its easy to check on top of the 12V battery.
