Happens to me too. It's on my long list of Ford software bugs.
Makes sense when it happens after an update (although with some minimally savvy programming they could save user settings and reapply them after the update completes).
But OP is saying the settings reset even when there has been no...
Your symptoms sound exactly like mine. Same power reduction (57%) and same SOC charging fault (65%). In my case they needed to replace one battery module. The part took about a week to arrive, and the work to install and get the battery reprogrammed was another two days. Good news is that the...
Speaking as someone who had the HVB issue, I will say in my case the issue did not strand me. Available power output was reduced to 57% and charging would not go past 65% SoC but neither of those factors kept me from getting where I needed to go until I could get it fixed under warranty. IMO the...
I agree about the dealers getting better at it. Aside from the hiccup with the cyber attack, they were pretty spot on with what needed to be done, how long it would take to get the parts and how long it would take to do the work.
Update on my case:
Replacement parts took 2 weeks to arrive. (Came from Canada, of all places.)
Work started the week of the 17th. I called to check on progress on 7/20 and they told me they were stuck at the stage of programming the battery cells because of the CDK cyber attack. On 7/21 I guess...
Good to know. I got word last Friday that the parts were in for my fix, so the work should be done this week. I have a semi-long trip planned in 2 weeks (180 miles, spend a week, then back) so I'm a bit apprehensive about having issues while away from home. I hope my experience is like yours.
With regards to the Nav telling you to charge, I believe there may be safety cushion factor at work there. Ford would be in for some extremely negative publicity if their nav told someone they would make it without charging and they ended up stranded - so I'm sure there is a tall threshold.
I am curious about those wheels/tires and suspension alterations (if any). Can you elaborate? Definitely looks like you're leveled, but maybe that's just the payload squeezing you down a bit.
7-10 business days to get the parts, another 2 days to do the work. (Includes physical installation and rebalancing the cells.) This is why we have warranties I guess.
Add me to the list...
Noticed last week that power output was reduced to 57%. Charging faulted once it reached 65% SoC. Service appointment this morning, and just got word that module 6 has failed. Waiting to hear from Ford on parts availability...
That's promising news. I'm still reading through the 42-page main thread on this and the folks who had this happen back in Jan 2023 were waiting for months. If the past year has improved their turnaround time that much for this issue I'll consider myself lucky.
Good to know...
More symptoms to report. Since AC charging doesn't work at all, bmwhitetx suggested DCFC might work, so I gave that a try. It technically works, but not really. Went to an EA station and tried two different plugs. In both cases the rate started at about 22kWh, then crept up to...
Thanks - I skimmed some of that thread and found a range of different experiences. Some folks just needed the 12v battery connections tightened. Others needed a module replacement - in some cases that took just a couple weeks and in others it took months. I hope I'm not in that last set.
