It's a shame how bad the service has gotten. In 2016, I was bragging to friends that the SC drove my car 1 1/2 hours to me, free of charge, after a service which was also free of charge. I was returning from a business trip and had mentioned to the SC (via a direct line that I could call...
400 mile battery, using a 150 kWh or less battery pack. GMC showed us that you can make anything go 300 miles if you shove enough batteries into it, but I'm not interested in waiting a week for a full charge at a 350 kW charger.
Other than that - as long as it can still haul stuff and go...
Apples to apples comparison of total energy used, regardless of fuel source, posted by MotorTrend recently:

Similar story here in Texas. My dealer has something around 300+ reservations, but was only allocated 2 for 2022 and another 2 for 2023.
The disconnect between demand and actual production is baffling to me.
I actually spoke with a local dealer about their mannequin this past Friday, and in the conversation he said 2023 order banks open tomorrow. So there's still hope...
Bless you for making this video, but based on what I've seen when others have shown how to disable noisemakers on other EVs, I don't envy the s***storm of negative commentary you'll probably receive.
I don't think anyone here, all of us fans of the Lightning, would argue against your first sentence. My original point seems to have gotten lost, so to reiterate: opening up the SC network to all EVs will place existing Tesla owners at a disadvantage, and diminish any brand loyalty that exists...
...are you asking a question? Tesla is a car company, so yes, everything it's achieved was made possible by enough people buying a car - including its charging network.
My point is that, by opening up the SC network, Tesla the company is making its own product less valuable to current owners. The CCS charging options you presented require, at the very least, an additional purchase by current Tesla owners. If Tesla wants to remain competitive, it shouldn't be...
You do realize that the SC network is as successful as it is because of the people who've been buying Teslas for the past decade, right? So you'll take advantage of the SC network, while crapping on the people who made it possible?
If this happens, it'll be a disincentive to buy a Tesla. While all other EVs will be able to access the SC network, Teslas still won't be able to access CCS networks. From an infrastructure perspective, that'll instantly put Teslas at a charging disadvantage.
Not to mention annoyed Tesla...
I have a friend who got a short range Model 3 to compliment the couple's other daily driver. Their only regret is that they didn't get a longer range version, because they barely use their ICE vehicle these days. All that to say, you might like the Lightning even more than you think you will, so...
I think the culture differences we'll see are the same ones that existed when the Model S first came out. Then, it was "EV people" vs. "Luxury German Import people." Granted, I don't think the latter group was ever as fervent as truck people are, but the themes I see are the same:
"It can't...
People like me have been typing "bUt ThE iNfRaStRuCtUrE" as a main selling point for Tesla since 2015. If this actually gets done, Teslas will instantly be totally interchangeable with all other EVs, and in some cases inferior. I hope they plan some other upgrades to stay competitive if this is...
As others have said, Out of Spec is definitely the best video review thus far. The others are mostly information everyone who's spent a month on this forum already knows. Can't wait to see the Cannonball between this and the Rivian, @OutofSpecKyle!
I see the Broncos and Mach-Es and that color just looks so much cooler than the standard colors the Lightning got. And while I appreciate the intent behind "Resale Value Red/Black/Silver/White," I'd much rather enjoy the vehicle as I'm driving it, not for how much I can get for it later.
Maybe...
