did you write your as built config in forscan?
if so it was the same observation I had with the HVAC unit i bought the ICE units have different firmware on them and a different config from the BEV vehicels
Hi, was wondering if you could comment on ease of full removal (hear Lomax is one of the best in class in that regard), and or its actual panel width/can it be stowed in say the back seat for example
Sorry rapid fire updates:
Livinitup just confirmed with me BEV does have different config and updated tab in livinitups forscan spreadsheet.
Also for folks trying to enable HSW onscreen on lightning with stock HVAC modules you may need to change this as well lightning config the HSW is in a...
just further update unable to flash ML3Z-19980-K to BEV firmware incompatible software signatures.
I think the only options for physical controls is if the newer HVAC units such as NL3Z- 19980-S may either be default inlclude the coding to support BEV, or may support being flashed
what I...
So another short update and some more good news.
Finally got a new or test version of forscan from the forscan team after a little back and forth troubleshooting that can actually edit the config on the BEV HVAC module.
Given I was still super suspicious that the config on our BEV HVAC module...
ask and you shall receive, it is a little annoying to be sure. basic order is side trims from the console, the top frame around your screen then the long gray bar that your ignition button is in thats the scary one i worked right to left. the module itself is not too hard to pull out of its...
Anyone got this bulletin with a XLT (i guess it would be the 312a) curious on the HVAC part of the swap for other reasons.
Diving into adding features to a pro and the HVAC has been a tricky/problem child of the endeavor so im curious if the BEV really takes the NL3Z- 19980-S from the docs...
have you installed it yet? sorry just curious and or frustrated with forscan at the moment
NL3Z- 19980-S is the part you ordered correct?
on a side note forscan got me another trial software but still no dice updating the hvac config
Just a quick update took a 3 day weekend and did all the disassembly wiring etc. (more pictures and writeup to come on that just is a lot of info to put together)
Early Highlight notes:
all the wiring runs identified as neccessary, pins and wires all check out The seats are "technically" fully...
thanks for the info seems interesting and or hopeful that other options may be available? It is curious however that all that documention does not mention anything different for BEV or ICE and or other vehicles etc that may or may not have heated or HC seats. (which makes no sense to me)
below...
I still need the HC seat controls too but that is another good failback option I don't think a version exists with the lightning.
what is curious is that part isn't spec'd as being compatible with the lightning? That partnum is the ice variant i would be curious if they have been doing anything...
Lightning HVAC units have different firmware on them, and or may be different hardware (to me that is the real question) as they have different heating and cooling systems/strategies. What I want to try doing is flashing the ICE HVAC module with BEV firmware. But First I intend to see if the...
sorry don't mean to keep hijacking the thread but
according to the ford parts page
https://parts.ford.com/shop/en/us/jumper-wire-15443690-1?pdp=y
gives the right description, and PL3Z-14630-E is what is returned if you search for NL3Z-14630-G, though the numbers in the diagram don't...
yeah im wondering if its worth the extra dosh/going with a local dealer (though the ones local to me are just scummy) or just take my chances a second time but these online shops will not take a return on a electrical part at all.
Wanted to share a few notes:
22 pro Tow tech/maxx tow.
Got driver side working per the well written instructions awesome! And the approach lighting is also sweet!
I would add for anyone that is more paranoid you can pull down a copy of the stock firmware before flashing the BCM right from...
shoot yeah your right I'm sorry I cant read at all apparently, that makes sense though is a bit scarier module to flash.
Out of curiosity does the firmware flash reset the config for the module? IE if you had any other previous config changes?
ah just looked closer at your all forscan changes are in the BCM, (my mind thought it was based in the DDM)
the DDM/PDM are just flash the firmware no other config changes?
also appreciation for the complete writeup much easier to follow.
Curious if anyone mucked around with the passenger side, seen the part numbers floated out there.
assume would be the same process for passenger door but probably different firmware for passenger door module, and different config?
did some more work tonight and i have HSW working WWOOHOO
also what on screen controls look like with below settings changes how the main menu navigation works too no longer the bar on the bottom
So bear in mind this is still with the the pictured ICE HVAC unit (which cannot actually do...
