Concur - Based on the state of charge video, that pin would appear to be a NACS release lever lockout device (which is an excellent safety feature to add, so thumbs up for at least the design @Ford Motor Company). The lockout would only be effective if it had successfully latched in the first...
Brian - appreciate the prompt response and invitation for additional feedback.
1) When I noticed that i did not need to press the Lectron NACS end latch at all to remove the NACS handle from the adapter, the Lectron adapter was not inserted into the vehicle on the CCS end. Is that the...
The CCS latch to the lightning worked no problem and locked as normal. Iām talking about the NACS end of the Lectron adapter which I could 100% slide out of the Lectron while charging full tilt With minimal effort.
It took me a few successful supercharging sessions to notice that i didnāt...
Happened to, at long last, receive a DCFC adapter from @Ford Motor Company right before a winter weather road trip this weekend.
Long story short, it was a Lectron type. And I happened to notice thankfully when it was not live, IT DOES NOT LATCH WITH THE NACS HANDLE!
This seems to me to be...
Ive definitely noticed this one. Kind of inconsistent though, maybe as youāve noted depending on a particular truckās lights. No IPMA update for me yet so weāll see if it gets worse.
The other one Iāve noticed is that it likes to blind Semiās coming the other direction on highways with a...
Based on what Iāve read, my understanding is that the lightning hardware is incapable of meeting the NHTSA requirements and will never be approved leaving Forscan as the only recourse.
Are you suggesting thatās not right and Ford could eventually get them approved?
@Ford Motor Company , iāll go out on a limb and propose that you could pretty easily address the thing that a significant portion of the posts on this forum, maybe a majority, are about: OTA update schedule. You could be easily make this not mysterious by publishing a schedule of some...
My 2 cents: 1-pedal drive / stock tires was excellent in heavy snow on a recent trip through western NY. I didn't get any sense that the regen had any ABS character to it, but in my mind if you're needing ABS in the snow, you've generally made an oops and started stopping too late for the...
Mine is a 12/23 build, and yikes! Passenger side had maybe 10 ft-lbf on it, driver more like 30.
Definitely donāt recommend relying on visual inspection!
I didnāt find anything in search or by a skim of this thread so apologies if itās already been addressed but I havenāt found:
My question is, is it possible to do a forscan mod that shows energy consumption as kwh/mi rather than mi/kwh?
And, humans are terrible at long-term prediction. The reaction to not having a viable 1-ton truck today has basically nothing to do with the availability of such a thing a decade from now. For comparison, look at the technology and capability in an iPhone 6 vs. an iPhone 16.
Fair point, and totally agree - words matter. āThere is no mandateā isnāt quite fair as has been pointed out because itās maybe splitting hairs given the various state regulations in play. However Iād still argue that since the state rules phase in over the next decade functionally means there...
I think itās worth pointing out that, aside from California, there is no āEV mandateā. There are simply goals and fuel economy requirements that are not likely to be able to be met by ICE cars with 30% thermal efficiency. The whole idea of a federal EV mandate is misinformation.
100% agree - the lightning is an excellent machine in its own right. Unfortunately, the cultural discourse today requires everyoneās āteamā to choose a āsideā on every topic which ultimately clouds the transfer of any objective information.
Anyone who Iāve run into who is able to objectively...
No chance. Use the frunk constantly. 150-180 miles between charges in poor winter conditions is plenty far and longer than childrenās patience and bladders can go anyway. 30+ mins at a stop with a family is like the default for a gas stop anyway.
