Wow, so at the end of March they did not know how to handle tax credit. This is going to be a nightmare for the IRS, maybe this explains why they are sending out the letters. Ford buyers are not the only ones who qualified for the credit.
I was one of those, I never received/saw any IRS form printed or digital when I made my purchase on 1/5/24. I talked to several dealerships who had no clue, the one I bought from said they would handle it, but obviously they had no idea either.
At this point I will see if I receive the IRS letter in the next couple of weeks, if I do or don't I will post it here.
It looks like other early January 24 buyers are posting issues so I will follow those also.
I am not sure what you mean "so you decline the credit then apply for it on your tax return" how would I decline it, I bought the truck the first week of 24. It would be great if I could just enter my VIN and find out the status.
I am not wanting to take the credit if the dealer did, but if I do not receive the IRS letter, that tells me the dealer did not take the credit. If that is the case I should be able to take the credit. I also don't know if the IRS will have some way for me to enter my VIN# and find out the...
Everything is correct and we have not moved, and like I said we did not sign any IRS paperwork. I just think the dealer just wanted the truck off their lot, and if I do not receive a letter I think I should be able to claim the tax credit.
My wife and I never saw any IRS paperwork on a screen or actual paperwork. In my sales agreement it says I provided a $7,500 cash down payment, nothing about it being a transfer of my tax credit to the dealer. After watching your video, is the dealership able to add my sale to the IRS website...
Same thing here almost exactly, 1/5/24 though. I asked several times for paperwork and finally received mid February but no IRS paperwork and never signed any IRS paperwork. Dealers were in mass confusion or had no idea about how to handle the new credit rules this time last year.
I guess I will soon find out if my dealer actually filed the paperwork last January 5th when I bought my qualifying new 2023 XLT Lightning. Best I can tell they just gave me the $7500 off (Z plan price) and never filed anything with the IRS. It was the only Lightning on their lot and they...
Sorry to hear about your circumstances. We are preparing for 6" of snow in middle TN and I tested my truck bed 7.2kw PPOB to power about 2/3 of my house (one 90 amp sub panel) with great success (0 issues). Tested major kitchen appliances and heat (gas furnace)to which leg (A or B or both)...
I was notified yesterday afternoon that my replacement adapter will be delivered today (24th) by FedEx. Two months to the day of being notified my original adapter was defective and would be replaced "shortly".
I have a 7kw solar system (19 400 w panels) with a 10kw home battery and a 12k Sol-Ark inverter. The Sol-Ark allows for a 50 amp 14 50 nema plug to be wired straight to it. With this setup I (retired) can charge a vehicle (2 ev's) between 9-1 during the winter on sunny days at 16 amps (4kw)...
I bought a 40 amp charger at my local Goodwill Store several months ago for $80 and it has worked like a charm. My Lightning did not come with the $500 charger cable thank goodness.
I plan on keeping it for at least ten years. The combination of the 9.6kw PPOB, 98 kw battery, and my home solar system makes my Lightning XLT extremely useful for years to come. Plus to be able to drive whenever I want to is the icing on top, a great driving vehicle.
